Joe's POV
Mia came home from work early and told me that she had a surprise for me. When I come into the house, Mia's in the kitchen waiting for me.

"Hi. Have a good day?" Mia asks. I nod.

"Yep. What are you making for dinner?"

"Your favorite. Smoked salmon and buttered noodles," Mia replies with a smile.

"Sounds delicious," I say as I wrap my arms around Mia's waist and kiss her on the cheek. "It's the perfect meal for a football player who's in summer training,"

"I know. That's why I made it for us," Mia mutters. I look around and frown.

"Where's Kara?"

"Oh. She's at a friend's house tonight," Mia replies. I nod.

"Nice. We haven't had a dinner to ourselves for a while," I add with a smile. Mia smiles too.

"Yeah. It's really nice. Oh, I have your outfit picked out for dinner."

"Outfit? Why?" I question. Mia shrugs.

"I figured that we could have a date night at home and dress up nice," she replies. I nod.

"That sounds amazing. I've never thought of that before. I guess I'm gonna go upstairs to get a shower and change into my date night fit,"I explain with a wink. Mia laughs.

"Okay. When your done getting ready, come downstairs and watch the food. I'm gonna get changed into my dress for our date,"

"Sure. I'll be down as soon as I can," I say as I give Mia a kiss on the cheek. I walk out of the kitchen and up the stairs to get my shower.

Mia's POV
Joe comes downstairs in his suit and he looks as handsome as usual.

"You look so handsome. Watch the food. I'm going upstairs to change," I say.

I go upstairs and change into a floor length red dress. I come downstairs and Joe smiles when he sees me.

"You look amazing, Mia." He says.

"Thanks. You're sweet, Joey." I say with a smile. We kiss on the lips and I hear the alarm going off to tell me that the food is done. "I'll be right back. Wait in the living room and I'll come get you,"

Joe goes into the living room and I go into the kitchen to get the salmon and buttered noodles.

I lay everything out on the dining room table and light candles like Ja'Marr suggested. I pour Joe some champagne and pour myself ginger ale. I figure the best way to keep the secret before I tell him is to make it seem like we both have champagne in our glasses and ginger ale's color is the closest to champagne's color that I can find.

When I have everything set up, I fetch Joe from the living room. Joe sits down across from me, the candlelight illuminating the smile on his face.

"Everything looks amazing, Mia." Joe says as he sips some of his champagne. I smile.

"Thanks. I'll get your plate for you,"

I take Joe's plate and dish out noodles and salmon for him. After getting his food for him, I get my own food.

When we're done eating dinner, we still sit at the table and talk about our day. As we finish talking about our day, I take Joe's hand in mine and stare into his blue eyes.

"Joe, I have something to tell you." I say. Joe gives me a concerned look and nods.

"What is it you want to tell me?" He asks. I  breath deeply before continuing.

"I'm... pregnant," I say. I wait for a response and see a shocked expression on Joe's face. "Joe, are you... okay?"

"Yeah. I'm fine. It's just a lot to process," Joe replies. His shocked look changes to a smile and he gets up from his seat. He walks over to me and gives me a hug. "This is great news. I'm really excited. Truly. I love you and I'll love our child just as much,"

"I'm glad. I love you too, Joe."

Joe's response to finding out that I'm pregnant makes me so happy. Joe will be a great dad and I'm hoping I'll be a great mom someday too.

"Now that I know, we should probably tell my parents and your aunt and uncle." Joe says. I nod.

"Yeah. We probably should,"

Joe grabs his phone to call his parents.

"You know, if it weren't for Ja'Marr, this dinner probably wouldn't my have happened." I say with a smirk. Joe looks at me and frowns.

"You told Ja'Marr that you were pregnant before you told me?" Joe asks, looking a little hurt. I shrug.

"Well, yeah. I needed someone to help me figure out the perfect way to make my announcement and Ja'Marr fit the bill. I owe all of this to him," I explain. Joe nods.

"Okay. I guess I shouldn't be sad about that," he mutters.

Joe is calling his mother and she answers almost right away.

"Hello? Joe, honey, is that you?"

"Yeah. It is, mom. Listen, Mia and I have something to tell you."
