Two and a half weeks have passed.
Today is day 68.
297 days left.
School has the same old weekday routines. I'm responsible for having early lunch, and some minor casualties that includes, leaking water faucets, sudden alarms from cars, and some fixable pranks.
To be honest, I sound rebellious. But doing things like that fascinates me, and also, wala namang nasasaktan sa mga maliliit na bagay na ginagawa ko. Hindi ko naman kayang manakit ng iba.
Sa two weeks na nagdaan, nalaman ko na din ang pangalan nung transferred student, the one that has deep blue eyes. Alexander Will. Nalaman ko din na mayroon akong apat na klase na kaklase sya.
We never talked, which is a good thing. Kunsabagay, i never talked to any human students in here, except for group activities which I hate the most.
Its Wednesday, that means I have English subject today.
Pumasok ako sa room, no one spared me a look, except for him. He's reading a book, too foreign for me to know. I looked away. Just like the old times.
Wala pang limang minuto ay dumating na ang professor namin sa subject na 'to. She said a few things, na nabasa ko na all over again since freshman year.
"Now, I want to look underneath your table and you'll find a piece of paper," sabi nya at ginawa ko naman, and I saw a piece of brown paper. Naka-tape sa ilalim ng upuan ko.
"Open that paper and you'll see a symbol or a drawing," I opened mine and saw a ..... Yin and yang symbol.
A yin yang. Half of white and half of black. Light and dark.
How funny.
"Now using that piece of paper with a symbol in it, find your partner and do a summary of a book with your own choice using the context clues that we have already discussed a few moments ago, go now," and clapped twice.
Ugh. Bakit hindi nalang individual? Ayoko ng may kasama sa ganito, tapos hindi naman kayo pareho ng pananaw, imbes na kaagad matapos yung ginagawa nyo. Magtatalo muna kayo.
Even if I don't want to, tumayo ako at itinaas yung papel na hawak ko.
Naghintay ako for 15 seconds, at may lumapit sa'kin na babae.
"Ay, akala ko full moon, sorry Liz," tinanguan ko nalang sya.
Lumapit naman sya sa'kin. Not him.
Nang makarating sya sa harapan ko, pinakita nya sa'kin yung hawak nyang papel.
A yin yang symbol.
"We're partners, then," at umupo ako.
