You were lounging in your hammock, waiting for 6pm to be fed. You missed going on daring adventures, but it was for the best. You were down to your last life, and you wanted to save it. So here you are, at Mama Luna's cat rescue, waiting for the right opportunity to spend your last life to the fullest.
"Y/N?" A little dog called Perrito asked.
"Perrito!" You smiled happily at the small dog.
"Whatcha doing?" He asked.
"Not much." You answered hopping down from your hammock. You met this cute little dog not so long ago, ever since you arrived, he would not stop pestering you. He was dressed up as a cat to get free food, and frankly, he does a pretty good job.
"Can we play a game?" He asked excitedly. You were always amazed how he stay so optimistic. Like if someone was playing hide and seek, and they got trapped in a sock that was thrown in a river with a rock, Perrito would smile and have no remorse or want for revenge.
"No, not now Perrito. Maybe later?" You suggested. You sat up near the windowsill, staring outside, the world you once explored and had no fear of. Now everything was terrifying. You wanted to live, and live your last life so that everything you ever wished you had was in your paws. You heard a knock on the door, and went to get Mama Luna.
"Mama Luna, there's a knock on the door." You told her. She knew about you, and that you were down to your last life. She still had your daggers, belt, and boots in her cabinet, the one in the far left. She hurriedly walked to the door.
"I told you health department people, there are no cats here!" She yelled.
"Uh, meow?" A familiar voice said. You knew that voice all too well.
"Let him in." You told Mama Luna.
"You know that cat?" She asked.
"From one of my many adventures." You assured her. She opened the door, and you saw none other than Puss In Boots himself, but his boots, hat and rapier was missing.
"Puss!" You exclaimed happily, running out the door to go hug him.
"Y/N?!" He asked in shock. "You've been missing ever since Shrek's kid's birthday party!"
"Well, I've been busy.." You mumbled, gesturing him inside. Mama Luna smiled at the both of you, before walking off to do something.
"With?" He asked, raising his eyebrows.
"Retiring." You answered, and lead him to the bathtub. You turned the taps on and waited for the water to heat up.
"Why do I need a bath?" He asked, looking at his body. "I'm perfectly fine."
"Well genius, if you haven't noticed, you're a bit muddy." You answered sarcastically.
"Fine.." He grumbled, and hopped into the warm tub.
"How has your life been?" You asked him while scrubbing his head with some of the cat soap.
"It has been.. interesting, but it was better when I was with you." He said. You smiled, and slowly washed the bubbles away. You kissed the top of his head, before helping him out and getting him a towel.
"I've missed you." You said, while grabbing a hairdryer.
"Why are you doing all this?" He asked.
"Maybe so you don't look like you've just been chased by a wolf." You chuckled. His fur seemed to stand on an edge, his paws slightly trembling.
"What? The great Puss in boots is afraid?" You teased. You put on earplugs for the both of you and turned on the hairdryer. After he was done, you took the plugs out, put the hairdryer away and grabbed a brush. You began slowly brushing his fur, and you heard his purr softly. You smiled at his adorable reaction, and finished brushing.
"Hey, where are you going?" He asked.
"I'm finished, you can go make yourself at home." You answered.
"But I liked the brush." He said grumpily.
"Well, I can do it more often for you then." You replied. "It's almost dinner, come on." He walked out with you, and you showed him around, before you bumped into Perrito.
"Who's this Y/N?" Perrito asked.
"Oh, this is my old friend. His name is Puss." You answered.
"Puss, this is one of my good friend Perrito." You introduced.
"Nice to meet you, dog." He replied.
"Whaaat? How does he know?" Perrito asked.
"Your costume doesn't really match your fur." Puss pointed out.
"DINNER!" Mama Luna yelled. Perrito rushed over, while you walked to the kitchen.
"Where are you going?" Puss asked.
"It's fine. Mama Luna said it's okay for me to cook, I don't eat that nasty excuse of cat food." You said. "What do you want to eat?"
"Um, I'll have any but.."He began.
"Shellfish." You finished. "Puss, I've known you for so long, I think I should know what you're deathly allergic to."
"Uh, how about cod?" He suggested.
"Okay, how about baked cod?" You asked, getting the ingredients and the kitchen utensils. (A/N I googled what a cat can eat, so I couldn't give them lemon butter cod cause cats can't have butter or citrus.)
"Sounds fine with me." After a gruelling ten minutes of attempting to make baked cod because Puss said you did it wrong and nearly burnt the whole kitchen down, you made baked cod that was more or less edible.
"You are probably the worst chef I've ever worked with. The three blind mice did a better job than you." You chuckled. He gasped, looking offended.
"At least I have the most beautiful cat to be called mine." He said, smirking a little as he ate his cod. You smiled, and went back into the kitchen to get some leche.
"Cheers, to a happy reunion." You held your glass up.
"Cheers to a new forever I get to spend with you." He held his glass up and you drank your shot of leche. After your dinner was finished, you lead him to your hammock, where he lied on the bottom and you laid on his chest.
