Perrito continued to be the driver as you made your way through the barren land, like all those years ago.

"What? This is blank. We've been ripped off! Where is the..." Kitty yelled, but it words started appearing.

"Oh. Yeah. I knew it was gonna do that." She mumbled.

"The Dark Forest is deep and far. Within its bounds, you'll find the star." You read out.

"The Dark Forest?" Puss sighed. "No one goes into the Dark Forest."

"Or comes out." You added.

"A single wish burns true and bright. This map's the key, so hold on tight." Kitty read. You grabbed the map, but Puss and Kitty also grabbed it.

"Suéltalo." You and Kitty said at the same time, you pulling out your daggers and Kitty pulling out her rapier, while Puss pulled out a stick.

"You let go." Puss replied, pointing his stick at you.

"A stick?" You asked.

"What happened to your sword?" Kitty chuckled.

"Got rid of it, you know. Made things too easy. I needed a challenge." Puss answered. You yanked harder on the map, but they pulled harder.

"There's no way I'm letting you hold the map." Kitty said.

"Well, there's no way I'm letting you hold the map." Puss retorted.

"I can hold it." Perrito added. You, Puss and Kitty both pointed your weapons at Perrito.

"Yeah, right. What's your deal, anyway?" Kitty asked. "You run with the Chihuahua Gang?"

"I don't think so." Perrito answered.

"I don't believe you." Kitty sneered, her attention back on the map.

"That's okay." Perrito replied, and he put his focus back on the road. "As long as you believe in yourself."

"Wha..." Kitty was shocked. "Is he deranged?"

"Yep." Puss answered.

"Nope." You answered at the same time. Puss and Kitty looked at you with confusion. "He's just a little, um, overly positive."

"What's your name?" Kitty asked.

"Oh, I've been called all kinds of things. Dog, Bad Dog, Stupid Dog. Hey You! You There! Get Out! Leave It! Drop It! Big Rat, Small Pig, Rat Face, Butt Nugget, Shit for Brains. You know, that sort of thing. But I've never had a name that really stuck, you know? That belonged to me." Perrito said. You knew that some people didn't like Perrito, but you didn't expect him to be hated that much.

"Is he done?" Kitty asked you. You nodded.

"And you are?" Perrito asked, holding up his paw to shake hers.

"Softpaws. Kitty Softpaws." She answered, knocking his paw down and she fluffed up her paws.

"Wow. Yeah. Now, that's a good name. You have the same last name as Y/N." Perrito said.

"No one's that dumb. No one's that nice." Kitty sneered. "I don't trust you."

"He looks so innocent!" You exclaimed. "He can definitely be trusted. I mean just look at his face."

"Pretty scruffy if you ask me." Kitty replied. Puss reached his paw over to grab the map, but Kitty snatched it away, hissing at him.

"Why not let me hold it if the both of you can't agree." You suggested.

"You're the older sister, so I guess okay." Kitty grumbled. She let go, but Puss didn't let go of the map.

"I'm older than you!" He exclaimed.
