Chapter 22

I parked my car. I got down and get my suitcase. I entered our house, it's quiet.

I was about to enter ny room when Alliana Called me. I turned and looked at her.

"It's Dawn's birthday, i just thought you might have forgotten" She said. I took out my cellphone and looked to see the date but it was power off, lowbat.

"Sh!t" I said and immediately entered my room. I took a bath and get ready.

I pulled out the charge of my phone and saw several missed call of Anton.

I called Anton.

"Greg" Kaagad niyang sabi pagkasagot saakin.

"Yeah?"

"Where are you? We are waiting for you"

"Papunta na, i just got home from work" I said as i get my key car.

"Alright" He said and i ended the call. I went out of my room and go downstairs.

"Alis ka na?" Alliana asked. I nodded.

"Ingat" She said and smiled.

"Thanks" I said and started the car.

Minutes of driving i finally arrive. I get down of my car. Kaagad na rin akong pumasok, immediately saw Anton.

"Gregorio!" He said, widely smiling. I smiled.

"How's my wingman?!" He said and tapped my shoulder. I laughed.

"I'm great" I uttered. "Where's Dawn?" I asked.

"There" Anton said as he pointed where Dawn is.

I walked towards Dawn to greet her.

"Happy Birthday, Dawn" i greeted and kissed her cheek it's called 'beso'

"Thank you" She said and smiled. "You're late, anton's been waiting for you kanina pa"

"I got busy sa work atsaka my phone is lowbat kasi earlier" I explained.

"Greg, let's go eat first" Anton said. I nodded and walked towards the buffet.

Napalingon ako ng marinig si ate imee. Having a call with someone. I got confused when she gave the phone to Dawn.

"Hi" She mentioned the name but didn't heard it masyadong malakas ang speaker.

Mas lalo akong na confuse nang pahinaan ni Dawn ang speaker.

Napako naman ako sa kinatatayuan ko ng marinig ang boses ni Irene sa telepono.

That was her voice, i know her voice.

Sandali lang kinausap ni Dawn si Irene at kaagad na ring kinuha ni ate imee. Sinundan ko si ate imee as she went out of the house.

I didn't stay long because anton called me right away.

I drank beer a lot so i felt so dizzy.

"Anton, i'll go now besides it's late na rin"

"You sure you'll go home? You're drunk" Anton said.

"Yeah, i can still drive" I said and stood up. "woah" i said in a low voice because i felt dizzy.

"I'll go now" I said and started to walk.

"Okay, ingat sa pagda-drive" He said and i nodded.

I immediately started the car and left. Papikit pikit na ako but i still manage to drive. I arrive at our house bumaba na kaagad ako dahil nasusuka ako.

I entered the cr and threw up.

"Are you okay?" I heard someone asked. I know it's Alliana. I turned to look at her. I stood up and go out of the cr.

"Lasing ka nanaman" Alliana said so i looked at her.

"Wala kang pakialam" I said and continue to walk.

"May pake ako because i am your fianceè"

"Pwede bang tumahimik ka na lang? Bakit ba pinagsisiksikan mo yung sarili mo sakin? Ilang beses ko bang sasabihin sayo na hindi kita mahal"

"Kasi mahal kita, Greggy at umaasa ako na mamahalin mo rin ako" She said. I saw her tears escaped her cheek.

"Wag kanang umasa kung hindi lang naman dahil sayo edi sana masaya ako, i am happily living my life. Who the fuck want to be in an arrange marriage? This is bullshit, Alliana"

"Bakit ba ang sakit mo mag-salita? Hindi ko rin ginusto to, Greggy. Wag mong ibugtong saakin ang galit mo"

"Eh kung ayaw mo rin edi sana una pa lang tumutol ka na"

"Kaya nga nakiusap ako na wag muna tayong ikasal eh dahil humahanap ako ng paraan para hindi matuloy" She said sobbing.

"Sana maapreciate mo manlang yung effort ko para sayo" She looked down while crying.

"Kung pwede ko lang kunin yung sakit na nararamdaman mo gagawin ko, kase naawa na ako sayo, kase kada uuwi ka lasing ka, you keep mentioning Irene's name na unti unting pumapatay sa'kin"

"I wish i was her" She said in a low voice.

"Ang unfair mo naman kasi. Ako yung nandito, Greggy" I can't say a word.

"Sana nandito rin ako" She said and pointed in my chest

"Mahal kita, Greggy. Mahal na mahal at kayang kaya kong magpaubaya para lang sumaya ka" She said almost whispered. She walked out and entered her room.

Napako naman ako sa kinatatayuan ko. My tears are about to fell but i suddenly felt like i'm gonna throw up so i hurriedly entered the cr.

I took my wallet and stared at Irene's picture.

"I miss you" i whispered then a tear escaped my cheek.

"Balik ka na, please" I said and cried. 

"Miss na kita, Love. Miss na miss" I wiped my tears.

"Pagod na ako, love. It's very tiring. Miss ko na yung pahinga ko"

I always talk to Irene's picture whenever i miss her so i still feel like she's there, the person who always listen to my jokes and stories even if its nonsense.

"Sana mapatawad mo pa'rin ako" I slowly touched irene's picture. I smiled. "You are really beautiful, always"
