Stark Mansion July 12th, 2010
"Hey Bells." Tony said as he walked into her bedroom. Three days had passed since Tony's return and press conference. They had gone and gotten all her stuff from Pepper house. Bella was currently putting her bedroom back together and reorganizing. She was glad to be back in her own, spacious bedroom again.
"Yeah, what's up?" She looked up at him from her CD collection she was putting away.
"Wanna come with me to see Rhodey at the air base?" He invited her.
"Why?" She gave him a confused look.
"Do I have to have a reason for spending time with my daughter who I haven't seen in three months?" He awkwardly drummed his fingers on the door frame. Never in all of his fourteen years of being a father had he asked his daughter to spend time with him, it made him a little nervous. What if she said no?
Bella raised an eyebrow at him. "You've never wanted to spend time with me before."
"Well, I wanna make up for lost time." He rubbed the back of his neck.
"Yeah, I'll come." Her dad was extending an olive branch, and she wasn't about to pass it up.
A huge smile spread across Tony's face. "Alright, cool." She followed him out the door and got into the passenger seat of his Audi.
Ten minutes later they pulled up in front of the airbase and walked into the nearest hanger. Rhodey was standing in front of a plane talking to a group of airmen.
"The future of air combat. Is it manned or unmanned? I'll tell you, in my experience no unnamed aerial vehicle will ever trump a pilot's instinct, his insight and his ability to look into a situation beyond the obvious and discern its outcome, or a pilot's judgment." Rhodey spoke to group in front of him as Bella and Tony approached.
"Colonel? Why not a pilot without the plane?" Tony quipped with a smile.
"Look who fell out of the sky. Mr. Tony Stark." He introduced Tony to the group in front of him. "Hey, Bella." He greeted her with a smile.
"Speaking of maned or unmanned, you gotta get him to tell you about the time he guessed wrong at spring break. Just remember that, spring break, 1987. That lovely lady you woke up with." Tony poked fun at him while Bella made a disgusted face.
