It was early afternoon the next day as Bella and Tony sped down Pacific Coast Highway. Bella had slept for almost twelve hours and had never felt more refreshed. She had convinced her father to drive down to Stark Industries; apologize to Pepper and tell her he was dying. Surprisingly he wasn't opposed to the plan.
Up head, a man was selling strawberries on the side of the road. Tony slowed down and pulled up beside him.
"How much?" Tony asked in Spanish.
"$6. Six." The man responded.
"Why are we buying strawberries?" Bella asked him, confused.
Tony ignored her and continued talking to the man, "I don't have any dough. Here." He took off his watch and handed it to the man.
"No, sir, that's too much." He shook his head and didn't take the watch.
"No, it's fine. It's fine." Bella's father tried to reassure him.
"No, señor." He again tried to not except the watch.
"Take it. Take it." The man finally accepted the watch and tried to hand Tony the strawberries.
"I don't like people handing me things. Just give them to her. That'd be great." He nodded to Bella. The man handed her the berries. Bella thanked him with a smile.
Tony put the car in drive and began speeding away, "Are you Iron Man?" The man called after them.
"Sometimes." Was all Tony said in response.
"We believe in you!" The man yelled.
"So why did we buy strawberries?" Bella picked up one of the red fruits and popped it into her mouth.
"There for Pepper." He answered.
Bella had to cough to cover up her laughter. Of course, her father didn't remember the one thing Pepper was allergic to was strawberries. She decided it would be better to keep this little bit of information to herself; Pepper's reaction would be priceless.
