Stark Mansion May 30th, 2011
They sped down the coast back towards the Stark Mansion. Bella was smashed between her father and the model of the Stark Expo in the white convertible Audi. Tony had still not told her what he was planning to do with the model. He had been silent most of the ride, leading Bella to conclude he was deep in thought.
He didn't say anything until they got into the workshop and laid the model out on a table. A thick layer of dust, probably over thirty-five years old, lay on it. Tony leaned forward and blew off a cloud of it.
"Jarvis," Her father spoke to the AI, "could you kindly Vac-U-Form a digital wire frame? I need a manipulatable projection."
The AI quickly obliged and created a blue 3D projected model. "1974 Stark Expo model scan complete, sir."
Her father lifted the blue projection with a flick of his hand. "How many buildings are there?"
Bella sat back in her chair bewildered. She honestly had no idea what her father was getting at.
"Am I to include the Belgium Waffle stands?" asked Jarvis.
"That was rhetorical. Just show me." He clicked it again and the model spun and rose. "What does that look like to you Jarvis? Bella?" He turned to his daughter.
She looked up at the model, squinted her eyes and turned her head to the side. "An atom?" She guessed. The building arrangement sort of resembled one if you looked long enough at it.
"Yes!" He exclaimed. "In which case, the nucleus would be here." He highlighted the center of it. "Highlight the Unisphere. Lose the footpaths. Get rid of them."
"What is it you're trying to achieve, sir?" The AI asked.
"Yes, please enlighten me." Bella sat forward and looked at him.
"I'm discovering..." He spoke, not taking his eyes off the model, "Correction. I'm rediscovering a new element, I believe." He manipulated the model, "Lose the landscaping, the shrubbery, the trees. Parking lots, exits, entrances. Structure the protons and the neutrons using the pavilions as a framework."
The model transformed and shifted into a ball which, lo and behold, resembled an atom. Tony expanded his arms out. The model obliged and grew, creating a blue dome around them. Both of them looked up, amazed as the blue light reflected off their brown eyes. Tony clapped his hands together and the model turned into a small ball in his palm.
"Dead for almost 20 years, and still taking me to school." He exclaimed in disbelief.
"The proposed element should serve as a viable replacement for palladium." Jarvis spoke.
