Stark Expo, Flushing New York May 31th, 2011
Bella clung onto her father for dear life as they soared over New York. Below her she could see the twinkling lights of various suburbs. They seemed too faint and way too far away for her liking. Although she knew her father wouldn't drop her, that didn't stop anxiety from coursing through her and her stomach doing summersaults.
"Where almost there Be," Her father spoke in the metallic voice of the Iron Man suit.
Slowly they started to descend, and Bella could see the lights of the Expo ahead. Tony brought the suit down and landed on the sidewalk, a few hundred yards away from the auditorium Hammer was supposed to give his speech in.
"Alright." He lifted his faceplate and turned to her. "You go find Pepper, tell her whats happening. I'm going to go and confront Hammer."
"Alright dad, be safe." Bella leaned forward and hugged her father.
"You too Be." And with that he put on his faceplate and flew away.
Bella pulled her phone out of her pocket and dialed Pepper number. After a few rings she picked up.
"Bella?" She spoke into the phone in a confused and worried voice, "Is everything alright?"
"No, where are you right now? I'm just outside the auditorium where Hammer is about to give his speech and I need to find you right now." Bella started walking towards the entrance.
"Wait, what? What are you doing here? I though you where in LA?" She questioned; her tone laced with panic.
"I don't have time to explain, just where are you?" Bella panted as she ran up the steps of the auditorium.
"I'm in my seat right now. Row F. I'll wave to you." Pepper hurriedly spoke into the phone.
Bella burst through the front doors and immediately spotted Pepper. The red head had turned around and was waving at Bella frantically. Beside her sat Agent Romanoff. Up at the front on the stage was her father, Justin Hammer and who she could only assume was Rhodey in the stolen suit. But something had changed, the suit was painted differently and had various guns fitted on it. Behind them, what almost looked like other iron man suits stood lined up. But these ones where robots and had much thicker armor.
She ran down the aisle and shoved her way through the crowd of people, not caring who she bumped into. Everyone was standing up and clapping for Iron Man.
Bella had just approached Pepper when there was a sudden commotion from the stage. They looked up to see Rhodey, along with all the robots had their guns pointed at her father. Panic struck through Bella and the crowd as Iron Man flew up through the roof, followed by a spray of bullets. The bullets hit the glass ceiling above, raining shards down on everyone below. Bella ducked down and covered her head, but she still felt a few pieces nick her and a trickle of blood dripped down her arm.
