Violets POV
I was sat on the leather sofa in the hide out, flicking through a random magazine I'd picked up in the off license this morning to keep me entertained whilst I watched the pistols rehearse, not that they weren't entertaining enough already.
"We need originals" Steve persisted for probably the one hundredth time today, mainly aiming this statement at John who would send him a cold glare in return, "there's no point in being an original band if we are just gonna cover peoples songs"
"We'll get to that. For now we need to focus on tonight's gig and what we're gonna start with. I still think it should be 'Seventeen'" Glen piped up as everyone set down their instruments and slumped into their seats,
"That should go last, leaves people with something of ya. If you play it first it's forgotten by the end of the night" I hummed, turning a page onto an article about how punk was on the rise in the fashion world,
"Vi is right" Paul concluded,
"As always" I smiled cheekily, looking up from the article to check the time, "right I best be off" I sang running over to grab my things,
"Alright then, see you later" Steve waved as I pecked his cheek,
"Actually I can't make it tonight"
The boys booed and nagged me to explain myself.
"I've got work" I defended,
"Yeh but since when do you care about that? you'll be fired in a week an have a new job in another" Paul joked to which I chucked a piece of scrunched up paper with failed song lyrics on it at him,
Sure I didn't have the best track record with holding down a job but it wasn't always my fault. Sure I was rather forgetful and ditsy but I really did try... most of the time.
"Besides, when we become rich an famous you will never have to work another day in your life" Steve grinned throwing an arm over my shoulder,
"Fuck work, wouldn't you rather come see a band who can't play" John challenged with a sly look resting in his eyes,
I watched him, biting at my bottom lip contemplating his words. Of course I would rather be out with my friends, supporting them and having a brilliant time instead of trapped in a dingy pub with drunk, disorderly men ogling at me all evening.
"Well?" John asked, cocking his head,
"Yes fine, I'll go" I announced as they all cheered,

Third Person POV
The gig had started over an hour ago with only a few more minutes left and Violet was still nowhere to be seen. This was very much noticed by a particular red headed singer who had been scanning the crowd for her all night.
"Right we've got one last number and then we'll fuck off cause I'm a lazy bastard" John told the audience as his eyes locked onto a figure pushing her way through the crowd, a small smile creeping onto his face at the sight off her dark brown hair and jade green eyes,
The song came to an end after a few minutes of deafening noise from the band who seemed quite happy to be able to go for a drink at last.
"Look who finally showed up" John exclaimed to Violet as everyone was leaving to head to the pub,
"I'm sorry, my tosser of a boss wouldn't let me get away" she explained looking genuinely apologetic,
