Laughs and chuckles echoed off the walls of Violets flat, the blood orange sun slowly but surely disappearing behind the roofs and chimney tops.
"Do you remember that time dad took us to work at the factory and we drove that cart into a massive bag of styrofoam?" Cole breathed, still recovering from the last story he'd told "it went everywhere"
"He never took us to work again" She giggled, exhaling smoke out of the open window,
"Yeh thank fuck, that place was a shit hole"
The conversation died out being replaced with a comfortable silence as the two sat on the window sill with faint smiles on their faces.
"So, you and John ay?" He asked randomly,
"What?" Violet spluttered, her eyes widening,
"C'mon Lottie, I know you to well to see when you're lying"
"... fine well yes I guess there is something there" she admitted, flicking the ash off the end of her fag,
"Are you dating?"
"Well no, I mean sort of" Violet fumbled,
Cole raised an eyebrow at his sisters sudden skittishness.
"I don't know" she concluded after a while,
"You should probably find out" he grinned,
"No shit Sherlock" she chuckled, slapping his forearm for his sarcasm,
Violets thoughts buzzed around in her head, what were her and John? Nothings been made official, has it? Does she even want a boyfriend?

Violets POV:
Somehow I'd landed myself at another band meeting, not that I really minded but there tended to be a lot of conflict whenever a meeting was held.
When I walked in Sid was on the sofa draped over Nancy who was softly digging her nails into his arm whilst he slept. Ever since Nancy had met Sid she's been staying with him, which wasn't great news for John since he also lived with Sid majority of the time and to him Nancy was the definition of a she-devil.
"Ah Violet, we need your opinion. God save the Queen or no future?" Malcom asked me,
"What?" I answered,
"For the name of the pistols new song, do you think it should be called God Save the Queen or No Future?" He repeated,
"Hmm... No Future, it's more self explanatory and statement-y" I hummed dropping my bag before sitting on the wooden table,
"See, Violets the only one with any sense around ere. After the jubilee the song will be forgotten" John huffed,
"Our God save the Queen will be a National anthem for a brand new country. A country founded on fury" Malcolm announced,
"Speaking as an American. I find the whole royalty thing very, very enchanting" Nancy piped up from the sofa,
"Shut up!" John snapped from his seat,
"I was just saying" she defended,
"This is a band meeting. If you are not in the band, you are band" he added standing to face her, "understand?"
"Vi's not in the band" Nancy pointed to me,
To be fair she wasn't exactly wrong but I was definitely more invested in the band than she was.
"Well she's also not a groupie" John spat back at her,
"You have a wonderful way with words has anyone ever told you that" she added,
"Yes, my girlfriend" he said with a pressed smile,
"Girlfriend? What girlfriend?" Steve asked obliviously,
My mouth hung open slightly, was he talking about me? Some other mystery girl that he'd also been seeing? And if so was I the girl on the side or is she?
John almost looked shocked at his own words as they'd fallen from his mouth.
"Who's the unlucky girl then Rotten?" Paul cracked,
"No one" he mumbled, his eyes flicking over to me for a second as a lump formed in my throat at the harshness of his words,
"Yeh better not tell, Steve would probably be tryna get in her pants within the first five minutes of meeting her" Cookie laughed whilst Steve threw him a look,
I bit the inside of my cheek to keep myself from interjecting in the conversation in fear of exposing myself fully.
"I thought John was with Violet?" Nancy piped up from her place on the sofa "Or are you guys just hooking up?"
Shit...
