Since the wedding fiasco Violet had made sure to keep her distance from the pistols, meaning she'd stopped going to rehearsals, no longer would pop into SEX to say hi to everyone and didn't attend any of their late night motives at the old hide out.
Steve knew why of course but for everyone else, they were just left in confusion.
"You seen Violet about lately?" Paul asked Steve whilst they had taken a break from rehearsing,
"Nah" he mumbled, playing with an inky black biro pen,
"She got a fella on the scene or something?" Glen asked,
Johns jaw clenched slightly at his words and he looked to Steve for answers that he didn't know for sure he wanted to hear.
"Nah, Violet don't do boyfriends" Steve smirked knowing how his best friend was too much of a free spirit to be tied down by anyone,
"We should pay her a visit" Paul announced after a moment of silence,
After they all agreed except for John who just reluctantly went along with them, they drove over to Violets flat.
"Vi" Steve called knocking on the door a few times "Vi" he tried again,
After a minute the door swung open revealing a very hungover looking brunette with a bad temper. Her hair was matted and she wore an oversized t-shirt that hung off her shoulder which read 'no harm done' in bold lettering and a pair of short shorts.
Her eyes slowly drifted over all of them before she sluggishly stepped aside to let them in.
"What do you lot want?" She huffed falling onto the sofa,
"Nice to see you to" Paul laughed whacking her legs so he could sit down next to her,
"Where you been?" Glen asked,
"Here, there, everywhere" Violet joked, snuggling herself into Paul's side as he rubbed his hand up and down her arm,
"Whatcha do last night?" Steve questioned as he perched on her coffee table,
"Well, mum, I started off by going down the Roxy and drinking till my face went numb, then I met some lovely people to which we went around soho bars till about 2 in the morning. After that it's just a drunken blur of drug abuse and unprotected sex" she grinned as they all chuckled, well, all except for John,
"Fancy a tea?" She asked to which a few of them nodded, "right well me to, so Glen if you could be a dear and put the kettle on?" She smiled sweetly to which he rolled his eyes but did so anyways,
"We got our first tour" Steve told her proudly "up north"
"Those northern folk are gonna eat you alive" she said biting her bottom lip,
"Yeh well we gotta get our music heard" Steve stated "fancy a trip up north Vi?"
"What!" "What!" John and Violet both exclaimed,
"Shes not coming" John complained,
"Yeh what he said" Violet agreed,
"Why not?" Paul questioned,
"Well lots of things, like work and ... northerners and ... work" she fought,
"Oh come on it'll be fun" Paul protested,
"It's gonna be many things but fun ain't one of em" Violet retorted,
"Just think about it yeh?" Steve sighed to which Violet gave him a small nod,
"Teas ready" Glen called from the kitchen to which Paul and Steve headed into the next room,
"So... how's the married life?" Violet asked John who was looking anywhere but at her,
"What are you talking about?" He questioned with a raised eyebrow,
"You marrying Chrissie"
"I didn't marry Chrissie" he told the girl, finally looking at her,
"Oh, why not?" was all she could say,
"Cause she's not the one I should be marrying. An if my dear old catholic mum ever found out I'd married an American" he chuckled earning a small laugh from Violet,
She smiled at him realising this was the first positive interaction they'd had since that night at the hideout. John briefly smiled back before the rest of the boys re-entered the room, passing Violet her very much needed tea at last.
