Will's pov:

Mike kept on staring at the coordinations Suzie gave us while complimenting her on how Dustin was right about what he said about her, I wasn't aware of that conversation, but am I really to be surprised by that? No, not really. Jonathan opened the back door to the van to reveal Argyle and Suzie's sister Eden in a lot of smoke, really? Honestly, I'm not even surprised at this point, same cannot be said about Suzie. While yelling at Eden and dragging her inside, Suzie didn't even gave us a goodbye, Jonathan kinda raised his voice at Argyle while Mike and I were just standing there, not knowing what to do before Jonathan calms down. Which was luckily soon enough and we had enough time to calculate the directions to find out we're going to have to go back, but at least we knew where we were going.

"Why is it called 'Nina' anyways? What does it stand for?" Jonathan asked, looking over at me and Mike.

"Maybe she's a woman," Argyle said with a shrug, Jonathan looked like he had to hold himself really hard to not hurt Argyle, which is kinda understandable.

"It's not, it must be a code of some sort," Mike replied with a sigh, going back to calculating directions.

"We'll see when we find it," I quickly said before they could start fighting over it.

It took few more minutes before we were ready to go, with Jonathan driving and Argyle high as always, Mike was just silently staring into the map, telling Jonathan which turns to take. What a nice family feild trip, except we had the goverment looking for us and had to find a supersecret base, yep a totally normal feild trip.

After couple hours of driving we took another stop at a gas station, Argyle stayed in the car while me, Mike and Jonathan went on to buy food and water. Mike wandered off to the 'gifts' section, you know the one with overpriced flowers and other stuff like that, probably to get a gift for El or something.

"You know these are here just to get money from people, right?" I asked, walking over, Mike turned to me with an awkward smile.

"Yeah, I was just.. looking," Mike mummbled, looking back at the gifts.

"I don't think El's gonna like those, at least I wouldn't," I shrugged, that seemed to get Mike from the gifts and back to the snack isle. 

"But it's nice that you thought of her," I added, I didn't want him to feel bad and I now kinda felt like an asshole.

"No, it's whatever, I wasn't gonna buy El anything anyways," Mike waved it off, I didn't know what to reply to that, so I just stayed silent. Mike picked up a bag of gummy bears.

"You know we're here for actual food, right?" I asked, Mike shot me a look.

"Are you gonna question every move I make in this damn station," Mike asked, I shrugged.

"It's fun, you used to do the same when we were younger," I replied while crossing my arms, Mike just shrugged.

"But you know, we're not kids anymore," Mike sighed, looking over at the snack to avoid making eye contact.

"I wish we still were," I replied, forming a small smile, Mike looked over at me with a confused look.

"Before the Upside Down? I guess it was just easier," Mike said with another sigh.

"And I was way happier," I replied with a shrug, "but you're right, we're not kids anymore. And saving the world is up to us again," I let out a small laugh, Mike laughed too.

"Yeah, but sometimes I wish we still were, you know just playing DnD in my basement, no Upside Down, no girlfriends, just us," Mike said, giving me a small smile, that's what I always wanted.

"Yeah, me too," I admited, smiling back. Mike carefully placed his hand on my shoulder and took a breath to say something.

"Boys, we're leaving!" Jonathan called from the check out, so we walked over to pay for our stuff too. Whatever Mike was going to say before was forgotten by the time we got back to the van.
