"Since you've gone, I've been lost without a trace. I dream at night, I can only see your face. I look around, but it's you I can't replace. I feel so cold, and I long for your embrace."

Will's pov:

We were all watching El, why was she not waking up? I looked over at Jonathan, his eyes were still focused on El, just like everyone else's. El looked peaceful now, like normally, but she still was in... wherever she went. The room was too quiet and I got a headache, but it'd be awkward to leave now, right? Luckily, El's eyes opened and she drew a deep breath before sitting up, Mike was still holding her hand, looking at her in concern. El looked around, as if trying to remember where she is.

"What happened?" Jonathan asked, getting up. El just nodded in confusion.

"Did you hear us?" Mike asked, kinda anxiously. El looked almost dissapointed before she turned to Mike with a smile.

"Yeah, I did," she nodded, then looked over at me, I tried to give off a quick smile before she could notice I felt like throwing up for some reason.

"I need some fresh air, Will can you come with me?" El asked, letting go of Mike's hand and reaching it over to me, I helped her get up and walked her out without saying anything. Being outside made me feel a little better.

"I don't know why he said that, I'm sorry," El said when the door closed behind us, what does she mean?

"Who said what? What do you mean?" I asked in confusion, El gave me a confused look too, before sighing.

"Mike, when he said his life started the day he found out you were missing. I know that was a lie," El quickly said, until now I didn't even realize he ever said that.

"It's fine," I mummbled, kicking the sand under my feet.

"I don't think anything he said was true," El added, seeming like she's trying to read my thoughts.

"I dunno," I said, looking into the distance. The headache was getting better.

"What about your powers?" El asked after a minute of silence, "Did you tell anyone else?"

"I wanted to tell Mike, but I don't think I will," I replied, still staring into the distance, it was pretty dark and I think my eyes were playing tricks on me as what seemed to be a shadow of the Mind Flayer was watching me from that distance.

"Will, I'm so sorry. You know Mike had no right to say that and-" El started rambling again.

"El, I don't care, really. I think you just want someone to feel bad about it, so you're not the only one, but I don't care," I cut her off, El looked shocked. Was I too harsh? I finally looked over at her, she was looking down at the ground.

"I just thought you should know, when Mike met me, he wanted to send me back from where I came from, until he found out I know where you were, but the truth is, I didn't, I think he understood me wrong," El said, looking back up at me. "He got pretty mad at me when they found that fake body," she continued. Fake body?

"What fake body?" I asked, El looked surprised I didn't know this.

"Your fake body, that's why everyone thought you died. They found your dead body at the quarry," El explained. "Why did you think they thought that?"

"Mom said that they had a funeral because dad came over and he convinced everyone I was already dead, no one ever told me there was a body," I said, El looked even more shocked.

"Dustin, Lucas, Mike and I were there when they found it. Why do you think everyone was so protective over you when you came back?" El continued. I take back feeling better now, I feel like throwing up again.

"I thought they were just worried," I let out, El shook her head.

"I think it's also why Mike agreed to jump off that cliff," El said in thought. And she says this so casually like..?

"What?" I nearly yelled, El slightly jumped.

"Well, some mouthbreathers told him to jump off a cliff or they'd hurt Dustin, so Mike did, but I saved him and scared the mouthbreathers away. We didn't talk about it with anyone else, not even Lucas knows, I don't know why I said that," El explained, adding a shrug.

"I need a moment," I said, running off. I barely ate anything lately, and it felt like all my organs are gonna fall out.

"Will?" I heard El call behind me, but I didn't care because I was surely gonna throw up any moment. I ran to the closest trash bin, letting it all out. Soon I heard footsteps, so I looked up to see Jonathan walking over.

"Hey, everything alright?" Jonathan asked with concern. I slightly shook my head. "What happened? Did you eat something wrong?" Jonathan asked.

"No, I don't think that's it," I let out, sitting down on the ground. "El told me about the fake body," I explained, Jonathan looked surprised, but then sighed, kneeling down next to me.

"We didn't know how you would react if we told you," Jonathan explained.

"But that my friends saw it was okay?" I asked, maybe a bit too loud.

"Well, there could have been nothing done about that, but we could still protect you," Jonathan said, placing his hand on my shoulder, I shook it off.

"Don't you think that's why I'm such a loser? Because everyone keeps 'protecting' me and I can't do anything on my own? I don't want people to protect me," I said, getting up and walking off. Where to? I had no idea.

"Will, come on you can't just walk off like that. You don't know it here," Jonathan called after me.

"I don't care, leave me alone," I yelled back, not even looking behind. But obviously I stood up too fast and my vision turned black and I couldn't feel my legs or arms anymore, typical symptoms before you faint. I can't even do this right, I'm such a waste.
