"I want to be good and pure...But I'm not. I'm not. I'm not."
🎻
When Fitz arrived to school early the next day, he wasn't expecting Keefe of all people to be waiting at the gates. He was scrolling through his phone when he looked up and the two boys met gazes. Instantly, Fitz felt burning hot rage pierce through him. This was the gu the considered his best friend, and he decided to-
Fitz took a breath, no, no don't think irrationally. Keefe probably knows, but he wouldn't hurt you intentionally. That's not how Keefe rolls.
"...Hey, Fitz." Keefe said, craning his neck a bit. "Hey, Keefe. How are you?" Fitz greeted, trying to sound normal and calm. "Okay, I guess...Look, Fitz about Sophie..." Keefe paused for a moment and Fitz shoulders tensed at the topic, "...I know what I'm gonna say won't change anything...But, I really didn't know she liked me. And I wouldn't date if you weren't cool with it! But I think should also know I also like her but didn't tell you cause you guys were dating and-"
"Keefe, calm down." Fitz said, looking at him. Sighing a bit, he patted Keefe shoulder. "It's fine...I don't mind you dating her, not anymore." He said, biting his lip, "Im not as mad at you, more of it is towards Sophie and even then...I don't know if it's okay to stay mad at her..."
Keefe gave him a sympathetic smile, "I still feel bad..."
"Don't be, I'm fine with it. Atleast she didn't cheat on me with you, right?"
"Of course not!" Keefe said, a bit shocked. "I'm not a dick, Fitz." Fitz chuckles, patting his shoulder, "Then we're good."
"Keefe! Fitz!" Keefe and Fitz turned their heads and Fitz immediately, felt his heart drop to his stomach. His nerves went haywire when he saw a pair of brown eyes walking towards them, a soft, worried, smile gracing her feature.
Sophie.
"Sophie! Biana! Hey!" Keefe yelled, waving at the girls in the distance that were slowly coming towards them. Biana instantly rushed to Keefe, yelling at him for ditching their regular spa night (Don't ask Fitz how or why that happened, but he rather not know.) and Sophie...Well she wakes towards him, looking at her hands. Immediately, Fitz felt guilt bubbling in his chest.
"..."
"...Fitz, Their is something that I need to say." Sophie whispered, "Im really-"
"Sophie, please don't apologize." Fitz spoke. Sophie looked at him, shocked because she thought he'd be furious! But when she saw Fitz's eyes, she knew he meant it. "It's really fine...I understand that the relationship we had wasn't gonna work out the way we hoped. We were always so busy, it was bound to be difficult to keep up. I also don't resent you and Keefe for liking each other, that's just a dick move." He finished and Sophie's shoulders sagged in relief, and Fitz to felt a immense weight lift from his own shoulders.
He was about to say something else when Keefe cut him off, running to Sophie and giving her a big kiss on the cheek.
Instead of feeling jealousy, he felt a huge load of happiness for his best friends. I mean, who wouldn't? They seemed so happy together, and Fitz wouldn't have it any other way.
Then, something catches Fitz's sight. From the corner of his eye, he sees strawberry blonde hair come out of a path. He had his uniform on, and he looked a bit frazzled. But Dex...He didn't look any less...Breathtaking.
Fitz blushes and quickly looks away, joining in the banter the three had gotten into. What was he thinking?! Breathtaking?! He sound sos freaking cheesy right now! Like, why?! He didn't really mean that...Right?
But deep down, he knew.
He meant those thoughts.
And Fitz had no intention on letting anyone know those thoughts. No one was will ever know.
Ever.
But sooner, or later. He'll go back on that
