Life has a way of giving you ups and downs. Fitz knows that very well, and was currently living in an up.

After He and Sophie announced their breakup, Keefe and Sophie after a short while went public. It was a huge shock for everybody at the school, and alot of people tried to comfort Fitz, but he made it clear that he was perfectly fine with it and really happy for them. Which was true! After that, he has been a bit more happy. Especially when he was with Dex.

Which was a whole other thing-

It's been a couple months since the Exilluim students transferee to Foxfire and Fitz can say, he really was happy when Dex joined the team. He was an excellent player and Dex was just really great! He was sweet, kind and really hilarious. Fitz life, currently was going well.

Was

Fitz was sitting in class, waiting for his test to be returned. He was completely expecting to get a 100, like always...

But he saw his teachers face, which was just filled with pure shock. As he handed him his test, Fitz felt his heart dropped down to his stomach. Everything went quiet around him, he couldn't hear anything but a buzzing in his ears as he stared at the paper.

96%

That...That was horrible! Oh my gosh! It's literally horrible, when did it drop? Why did it drop?! Did he relax to much? Oh my gosh!

He fucked up...

He really was usless.

And fucking dumb.

When did it get so bad?

The score was good, not great.

Great but never enough...

You'll never be good enough.

Fitz sat up, his chair falling back and hitting floor with a 'bang!' Making everyone look at him. "Fitz?-" his teacher started, "I-I ne-need to go." Fitz stuttered, running out of the room. Then he just started to...well, run.

He didn't know what to do but run. He didn't know where he was going, but he knew he wanted to get out of that room. It felt... suffocating.

That's how he found himself in the storage room of the gymnasium where his team practiced. He collapsed on the ground after closing the door and began, shaking, he couldn't breathe! Everything was blurry, noises were loud...Fitz patted his himself, checking for his pills. Then he remembered.

Fuck. He didn't have his pills on him. He never does, he didn't had the need to bring them.

So he just...cried.

The test paper was long forgotten, all he could do was cry...Cry in hope for the pain to just stop.

Then...

"Fitz? Can you here me?" Fitz's sobbing ceased, hearing the voice he croaked out a weak. "...Dex?"

"Yea, it's me wonder boy. Right now I need you to breathe with me okay? Follow my breathing." And Fitz complied, at first struggling to breathe along with Dex but in a short minute he felt calm. He looked up, seeing the younger boy look at him with such care...It made his heart leap.

Then, Dex's soft hand touched his cheek.  It was warm, really warmed compared to Fitz's cold ones. He seem to unconsciously lean into the touch, sorta being touch starved. Dex chuckles, "You act like a cat sometime you know?" Fitz pouts, "Shut up..."

The silences fall on them again, then Dex spoke, "...Fitz. Why did you run out of your class?"

Fitz froze, looking at Dex in fear. Would it make him angry that he left over some stupid test score? Probably, considering in normal circumstances, his grades were amazing. "You don't have to answer, but the whole school saw you run out. Took a long time for the teachers to settle the kids down and try not chase for you, especially the gang. Hell, Marella and Keefe were ready to beat the teacher up from what I heard. But as you can see, I managed to slip away." Dex said, with a cocky grin. But that just lead to him stop grinning, seeing that his cru- er, friend looking even more like shit.

"...Shit I'm so screwed." Fitz lamented, curling into himself more. Dex moves to sit next to him, leaning his head on his back.

"Your not. The worse that could happen is that you get a call home and have to talk about feelings and stuff,"

"That's exactly what I'm WORRIED about!" Fitz yelled, a bit anger seeping into his voice. "My dad is gonna hear about this! He is gonna get me to go back to my shitty therapist and take more meds, I don't even like taking them!-" Fitz's eyes widen, realizing he just started ranting. Dex's eyes widened, Fitz shrinks more into himself, "Sorry, I didn't mean to-" He started, feeling the tears well up again.

He suddenly got wrapped into a warm hug. Dex didn't say anything, just squeezed tighter, but it felt like permission to cry. Permission to let everything out.

Fitz took it.

He hugged Dex back and started sobbing  again, he sobbed into his blazer.

Fitz just wanted the day to end at this point.

Cause the universe seemed to love making his life more crappy. Each. And Every. Day.

But...

With Dex, his other friends and his sister.

It didn't seem so bad anymore. Hopefully.
