Rosalie and Dani take their time getting ready to play football. Rosalie hands Dani an extra jersey that says "Hale" and the number 33 on the back. Dani gets her hands on some black face paint and puts streaks of it on her cheeks. Rosalie notices this and chuckles softly.
"Are you really that excited to be on the sideline?" the blonde asks.
"Well, I'm cheering for you, Little rose."
Both girls smile and head down the stairs to the living room. The rest of the Cullens were dressed in their own football attire.
"Ready, girls?" Carlisle asks.
Dani nods her head, and everyone heads outside. It was decided that Emmett, Edward, Rosalie, and Dani would all take Emmett's Jeep to the field. Alice, Jasper, Carlisle, and Esme would stay behind to gather supplies for the game. Emmett takes the driver's seat while Edward sits in the passenger's. Emmett roars the engine and turns up the heat for Dani.
The Jeep is lifted, so it's a bit more difficult for Dani to get in. She feels a cold, pale hand wrap around her waist. Dani is then gently lifted and slid into the back seats. Once the door is shut, she turns her head to see Rosalie beside her. The blonde smiles and buckles both of them up.

The trip to the open field is not long, just very bumpy. Dani had a hard time staying seated in her spot. Luckily, the seat belt kept her from hitting the roof.
The group met up with the others on the field. There was white paint marking yard lines, hashes, and end zones. Dani was given a helmet to match her jersey. The brunette rolls her eyes and puts it on.
Esme and Carlisle are going over the rules for a fair game. Everyone is listening intently while Dani spaces out. Her eyes catch sight of the football in Jasper's hand.
"Take it, take it, take it," Dani's thoughts are saying.
On impulse, Dani grabs the football from Jasper and starts running towards the black painted end zone. After a few seconds, she looks back only to see Emmett, Jasper, and Rosalie on her tail. Dani laughs and starts running faster. For the human's sake, the vampires are not running at their full speed.
Dani notices Emmett and Jasper coming at her from both sides. She stops running, and the boys crash together. Dani loses focus and giggles for moment too long. She continues running until something in her path stops Dani.
Rosalie.
The blonde growls playfully and starts sprinting at Dani. The brunette acts quickly and bends under Rosalie's arm to get past her. Dani barely makes it and almost trips over herself. She starts cheering when she reaches the end zone.
"Yeah! Touch down! Y'all lost to a human!" Alice shouts.
Dani breathes heavily while laughing. Her heart pounds in her ears from the adrenaline.
"That was a dangerous game, my love."
Dani looks up at Rosalie and chuckles.
"Maybe it was dangerous, but it was really fun."
"They're coming!"
Everyone turns to face Alice. The Cullens panic, Alice is seeing visions, but Dani is confused.
"Who's coming, Alice?" Dani asks.
"The nomads," Rosalie mumbles.
Rosalie takes off Dani's helmet to make sure all of her hair is pulled back tightly. Rosalie puts the helmet back on Dani and pushes the brunette behind her.
"Stay behind me, Love."
Dani gulps and nods her head. She grips the back of Rosalie's jersey to feel reminded of the blonde's presence to keep her safe.
"This will go bad, won't it?"
