𝙶𝚘𝚕𝚍𝚎𝚗 𝙴𝚢𝚎𝚍 𝙿𝚛𝚘𝚝𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 || 𝚁𝚘𝚜𝚊𝚕𝚒𝚎 𝙷𝚊𝚕𝚎

Fresh Air

The Cullens and Dani finally return to school on a Tuesday. Dani seems to be the only one that's panicking about everything. They were gone for a little over a week, which is unnatural for her but not the Cullens. What would Dani say to her best friend? There has to be some kind of lie, right? Rumors would spread around that she snuck off with all of the Cullens, more specifically Rosalie. Word is getting around about the pair, yet they haven't made anything official.

Dani is brought out of her thoughts by a gentle squeeze on her thigh. She looks over to meet Rosalie's concerned gaze with her golden eyes. Those golden eyes are what make Dani feel so small under the blonde's surveillance. Dani grabs a hold of Rosalie's hand the best she can with her casted arm. She smiles slightly, enough to calm some nerves of the vampire.

"I'll be okay, Little Rose."

The brunette knew Rosalie didn't believe those few words. Her heart was pounding through her chest with anxiety running through Dani's veins. Fear makes you stronger, right? The only way to conquer fears is to go through them. Rosalie releases a small grunt in protest but nods her head.

The pair step out of the red Mercedes. Rosalie locks it up and quickly makes her way to her mate. Dani chuckles softly at the blonde's protectiveness. Eyes from the student body slowly make their way to the girls. Dani inhales a big breath. She looks down at the notes and signatures on her cast from the Cullens. She finds comfort that the family was there for her during Victoria's attack. Dani releases the breath, and Rosalie and her continue their way to their lockers. Rosalie splits off from Dani to go to her personal locker. The brunette goes to hers and opens it, collecting items for her first class. Dani closes her locker and turns around but brought into a bone crushing hug. She winces from the cuts on her back that haven't fully healed just yet.

"Where the hell have you been?"

Dani recognizes that voice of her best friend Angela. Oh, have they missed each other dearly.

"Uh..well, I was in a little bit of a football accident," Dani sorta tells the truth.

"I'm just glad you're back," Angela sighs.

Dani makes it to her 4th period class: English. She walks in, and everybody's eyes are on her. This has happened all day. Are rumors spreading? Do these kids just want to know gossip? Do they think she's fucking around with the Cullens only for Rosalie? Hey, it's just a thought.

Dani sits at her respected seat, heart slowly starting to pound in her chest. Dani takes deep breaths to calm down. She gulps and tries to pay attention to what the teacher is saying. She pulls out the book the class has been reading for the past month. The teacher comes around to hand out a small worksheet. Dani takes one look at the paper, and her leg starts to bounce frantically. Dani's heart pounds harder in her chest. Her breaths become faster like she's suffocating.

"What the fuck is going on?" Dani thinks.

Tears try to brim her eyes. Dani quickly wipes her eyes to keep the tears at bay for now. Time has been lost when she hears the bell go off. Dani grabs her things and rushes out of the classroom. She walks faster than normal to her locker, walking at a rate that doesn't catch students' attention quickly. A ringing sound is heard, but where is it coming from? Dani opens her locker and shoves her belongings in it. She breathes heavily and faster than before. The door is closed while her arm is grabbed firmly but gently. Dani looks up to see Edward staring down at her.

"You need to come with me," he says lowly.

Tears are threatening to spill out of Dani's eyes by this point. She nods her head while Edward leads her towards the parking lot. Some teenagers look over in their direction, but they immediately look away due to Edward's deadly glare. Edward and Dani make it to the parking lot. It's cleared out because it's lunch hour. Edward let's go of Dani's arms while she's brought into another bone crushing hug, but this one is comforting. The familiar scent radiates off of this cold individual. Tears run down Dani's cheeks as she quietly sobs into the figure.

"Is it you? Is it really you?" Dani pleads worriedly.

The figure wraps a light grey cardigan around Dani. The familiar scent is now more intoxicating.

"Yes, Love. It's me."

Dani squeezes her eyes shut and hugs her Little Rose as tight as she can. It's not like she can hurt Rosalie. Rosalie wraps an arm around Dani's waist firmly. Her other hand gets tangled into the brunette's hair, massaging her scalp to calm the poor girl. Dani grips Rosalie's shirt tightly and tucks her head into the pale girl's neck.

"I'm here, Danielle," Rosalie whispers.

Dani sighs at hearing her full name. She slowly calms her breathing as the ringing stops. Her heart rate slows back down, yet she continues to hold on to Rosalie for dear life. Dani's head feels heavy because of a headache from the soft sobs.

"I don't know what happened," Dani softly admits.

"Me either, Love."

Rosalie leaves gentle kisses on Dani's shoulder to put her mind at ease. Rosalie pulls her head back to look at Dani's features. Dani opens her eyes and looks at the vampire with red, burning eyes and tear streaks. Rosalie removes her hand that was in Dani's hair and uses her pointer finger to gently rub from in between Dani's eyebrows down to her nose tip. Rosalie does this continuously to put Dani to sleep. Dani loves the soft, loving touches from Rosalie because they're so calming.

Dani's breathing evens out as her body slowly goes limp. Rosalie picks her up bridal style and turns around to see all of her 'siblings' watching the pair.

"We need to go home and figure this out. Now," Rosalie demands harshly but lowly to not disturb Sleeping Beauty.
