After Dani and Rosalie's heartfelt moment, they make their way back inside. The pair walk down the stairs to meet the rest of the vampires in the living room. Alice sprints to Dani and hugs her while spinning her around.

"Look at you all in love," Alice says.

Dani rolls her eyes after she's set down. She pushed Alice with all her strength, yet Alice doesn't budge.
Dani groans and flips her off before walking over to Rosalie. A few chuckle at the small antics.

"I know you won't like this, but I need to get you home. You haven't been there for awhile," Rosalie states softly.

Dani furrows her eyebrows at the blonde and hugs her tightly.

"I don't want to go."

"I know, My Love, but you have to eventually. I think it's best to go ahead."

Dani huffs and nods her head.

Dani takes a deep breath. With her duffel bag strapped around her shoulder, she nervously raises her hand to her home's front door's knob. She's been preparing herself for the worst since Dani started packing her belongings at the Cullens'. Would Austin decide to hit Dani again for being away for so long? Would the beatings get worse? Luckily, she has a family ready to rescue the brunette.

Dani gulps and twists the knob, opening the creaking door. She steps inside while closing the front door behind her. There's a lamp that's on in the living room, yet the rest of the house is dimly lit from the open blinds, letting in the little sunlight Forks has to provide. Making quick and silent steps to the stairs, Dani barely reaches the bottom before a husky voice makes its presence known.

"Danielle."

Dani freezes where she is. A small whimper leaves her throat, sounding like a small child. She shakes her head from that thought to compose herself. Dani turns around to see her father standing a few feet away with his arms crossed over his chest.

"Where the hell were you?" Austin asks with such authority that sends chills down Dani's spine.

"I-I was at a friend's house. Her family took care of me af-"

"I don't care what happened to you. You never came home. You never texted nor called me. The fuck were you thinking?" Austin says louder, cutting off his daughter.

Dani whimpers again with tears brimming her eyes. Austin scoffs and pushes her back on the ground.

"Stop acting like a fucking child. The hell is wrong with you?"

A few tears make their way down Dani's cheeks. She gets up, runs up the stairs to her room, and slams her door shut. Just as Dani was about to lock the door, Austin pushes it open. Dani squeaks and walks back to get away from the towering man she's sadly related to.

Austin swings his leg to connect it with Dani's right knee. She falls to the ground on top of her casted arm. She grunts in pain, squeezing her eyes shut to keep the tears in. Austin mumbles incoherent words while leaving the poor girl's bedroom, slamming the door shut behind him. Dani makes do with her pain to get up and lock her door.

"Meanie! Wait, what? That's the only name I can come up with?"

Dani furrows her eyebrows in frustration. She pouts before kicking her door. Dani stomps to her bed and sits down. She pulls her knees to her chest. Mr.Hops, a stuffed bunny on Dani's bed, is forcefully grabbed and cuddled against the frustrated brunette.

Mr.Hops is an average-sized stuffed animal that Dani's mom got for her after a hospital trip. Dani was around 8 years old when she decided to jump from a swing and break her ankle. It was a hard day for the family. Austin and Elode's hearts were breaking for their daughter. Somehow, Dani managed to survive in the hospital without a single sob. Sure there were tears, but she was a brave one. Elode got a stuffed bunny as a gift for Dani's braveness. Since then, Dani refuses to get rid of Mr.Hops.

With shaking hands, Dani pulls out her phone from her right pocket. She calls a Cullen's contact that was the closet and easiest to dial. The phone barely makes a full ring before someone on the other side answers.

"Dani? Are you okay? What happened?" Esme asks frantically.

"Rosie, want Rosie," Dani sobs softly.

Esme stiffens for a moment from hearing the teenager talk like a young toddler. She responds without questioning any further.

"She's on her way, Doll. You're coming back over to our house."

"Kick knee..hu't."

"That's okay. Carlisle will look at it for you."

Dani responds with a gentle 'okay' and hangs up. She puts her phone back in her pocket and sighs. A gush of wind flows through Dani's hair, and she looks up at her blonde hero. Tears began to pool in her eyes again as Dani lifts her arms and opens and closes her fists.

"Rosie, up?"

Rosalie doesn't understand what's necessarily going on with her mate, but refuses to question it due to the poor girl's situation. Rosalie picks up the brunette, and Dani wraps her legs around Rosalie's waist and arms around her neck.

"What happened, Love?" the vampire asks softly yet desperately.

"Bad man hu't me and no love me," Dani whimpers.

Rosalie sees the stuffed bunny on Dani's bed, and picks it up.

"Who might this be?"

"Mr.Hops," Dani mumbles.

"Hm, don't want to forget him, now do we?"

Dani shakes her head, snatches the bunny, and rests her head on Rosalie's shoulder. Dani sighs in content and shuts her eyes, exhausted from today's events.
