Pink blur

Sonic POV:

Me and Shadow made our way back to base when we started to hear panick, it was nice getting to know the guy, but we really had to check out what was wrong.

"Sonic, Shadow, There you are! Get over here!" Rouge pulled me by the arm into the office, Shadow tagging along. "The Eggbots are after us, they've spotted one of our extra bases and are attacking, we need to get there now!" Rouge threw me a few weapons that i also handed to Shadow before we made our way to the other base.

With my super speed, i made it first, i noticed Nine and Big leading the troops into battle, i sprinted over there. "You guys good? i see you're under attack, Knucks and Rouge are on their way as well as troops-" I cut myself off as a Bot sped towards Nine, spin-dashing it before it got close. 

"Thanks Sonic, Anyway, we've noticed the bots aren't the usual ones, they seem to be a decoy, only slightly weaker, i'm beginning to think this is a distraction towards the real base." Nine started typing on his tablet with information on the newest bot. "Thanks Tails- i'll go help the troops." "Stop with the nickname already, stay safe!" I hear Nine yell before pushing Big away to the Weapon storage.

Rouge, Knucks and Shadow made their way towards us with weapons in hand. "Hey guys!" I stopped to wave at them, almost getting a piece of metal in my head- "Watch it, Anyway we're here, How many Bots?" Rouge ran at me before getting in a defensive position.  "I can't get an exact number, but it was around 70, down to 40 once again!" I spin dashed on a bunch of bost before i reached Shadow. "Hey sexy, watch your pretty face!" i flirted at him before making my way to knuckles, i swear i heard a "Huh?!" abrupt from Shadz mask, heh.

"Sonic there you are! you disapeared this morning, thought you died!" Knuckles shouted at me while punching the bots, "Sorry Knux, Shadow wanted to have a lil chat- if you missed cuddling we can do it later!" I winked at him playfully. "C-C'mon nows not the time to talk about that!" I saw Knuckle'es face flush red as i laughed to myself, "You look absoloutley adorable." "What!?"

A/N: IM SORRY THIS IS SUCH A Y/N MOMENT BUT I CANT COME UP WITH ANYTHING ELSE AND I NEED TO PUBLISH SOMETHING LONGER THAN 600 SOMETHING WORDS!

The battle was won,once again thanks to my amazing speed- And we were sneaking through the concrete walls making it back to main base, Me, Knucks and Shadz were left behind to help conceal the old base once more, as well as make sure Troops were well and healthy.

The two guys stopped infront of me, nodding at each other before looking back at me, i tilted my head, confused to what they wanted. "What was with you behaviour earlier?" Knuckles hovered above me, his height is menacing. "Oh,i uhm was feeling a lil' flirty? eheh-" I got cut off before Shadow posistioned himself behind me, almost sandwhiching me between them.

 "Mhm, especially with that sexy remark on me." I just heard the smirk in his voice as well as the echidna doing the same thing infront of me. "i..uhm.." I felt my ears fall flat as my face turned red at both the males observing my behaviour. "I'm...sorry?" was all i could slip out before an echidna pulled me up on their shoulders abruptly.
"Hey, put me down, you know i dont like heights!" I felt myself wrap my hand around the top of knuckles'es head. All he did was laugh. "A bit of revenge." Shadow said looking up on me, i felt the embarassment as my face flushed with defeat.

"Make sure you dont drop me, atleast."

We inched closer to main base before i noticed a pink blur atop one of buildings, i was already off Knux'es shoulders by then, and i needed to check it out, that pink was way to familliar to be ignored.

"Hey you guys, keep going, i'll be right back with you." Knuckles looked at me confused until he nodded at me, i think Shadow knew the urgency as it seemed he noticed it too.

I ran towards the bulding until i noticed a familliar figure, looking at a communicator from the side.

The pink quills, the weirldy metalic armor, but i coudln't mistake those green eyes.

"A-Amy!" I felt myself run towards her, until she turned.

One of her eyes were covered with metal, as well as black with a glowing red iris. Getting a closer look, her limbs were all metal, rusting paint that looked like it came off from fights.

"Amy.." I felt myself try to reach out to her, before she slapped my hand away, her hand extending unaturally.

"Negative, my identification is Rusty Rose. You are a Rebel, if you want to be spared, i advise going back to your group." She deadpanned. The life in her eyes seemed drained. "Amy..what happend to you?" I almost teared up before pulling mysekf togheter with a quick sniff.

"Correction again, Rusty Rose, i am a mechanically enhanced Henchman of the Chaos Council, as i warned you, i advise going back to your group." I felt an arm pull me away before i could say anything else.

"Sonic, Snap out of it, she's not who she used to be." It was Shadow, he had pulled me to his chest with his arms wrapped around me in a protective manner as he looked past the corner he was in at..Rusty Rose. "She's long gone now, and all the more dangerous, i recommend we get out of here before she destroys us to pulp." I couldn't help but let out a small hiccup, Shadow noticed as he used my familliar speed to bring me back to base. He carefully putting me down on my bed, inside of my office.

"Sonic..." Shadow's mask was already off, as he looked at me with sorrowful eyes. "It's okay, i just...need to process." I couldn't help but look at my hands in defeat, what had they done to her?

I couldn't keep my promise...

She must've been in great pain...

Everything they've done to her...

I couldn't save her in time.

I couldn't hold back my tears anymore, as i started to cry, i felt Shadow pull me in close. 
"Shh..shh.. it's alright, it wasen't your fault. You did everything you could to find her, you were very loyal to her, i'm afraid she can't come back." i felt myself grip at his cloak harshly, making his hood slip down as i sobbed into his chest. I felt him place a hand on my head, carefully petting me as he put his other arm around my neck, pulling me closer. "Let it out.."

"You deserve a break."
