Andrew's heart was racing as he sprinted down the hallway, trying desperately to make it to his next class on time. He didn't notice the person rushing towards him until it was too late, and he collided with them head-on. Andrew stumbled backwards, his backpack falling off his shoulder and spilling its contents all over the floor.
"What the hell, man? Watch where you're going!" The other person, a handsome blonde guy, yelled at him.
Andrew was taken aback by the sudden hostility. He didn't have time to argue, though, as he was already late for class. Without another word, he gathered his things and hurried off, leaving the other guy fuming behind him.
As fate would have it, Andrew and the blonde guy ended up in the same class. Andrew couldn't believe it when he saw him walk through the door. He glared at him from across the room, feeling annoyed by his presence.
During the lecture, Andrew found himself getting distracted by the other guy's insightful comments and intelligent questions. He couldn't deny that he was impressed by his intellect, but he was still annoyed by his earlier outburst.
After class, Andrew approached the blonde guy, feeling compelled to say something. "Listen, I don't want to fight or anything. But you should tone it down a bit. You don't have to show off all the time."
The blonde guy raised an eyebrow, clearly irritated. "I'm not showing off. I just like to participate in class discussions. And who are you to tell me what to do?"
Andrew gritted his teeth, feeling even more irritated by the other guy's response. He didn't like feeling inferior to anyone, and he certainly didn't appreciate being talked back to.
"Look, I don't want any trouble. I just think it's better if we don't try to one-up each other all the time."
The blonde guy rolled his eyes. "I'm not trying to one-up you, dude. I'm just trying to learn."
Andrew couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy at the other guy's intellectual prowess. He didn't like the idea of someone being better than him, especially when it came to academics.
As the weeks went on, Andrew and the blonde guy - whose name he had learned was Clark - continued to clash in class. They both excelled in their studies, earning top marks and impressing their professors. But they never seemed to be able to get along, always arguing and competing with each other.
One day, after class had ended, Andrew approached Clark again. "Hey, listen. I know we've had our differences, but maybe we could try to work together on some of the assignments. I think we could learn a lot from each other."
Clark looked surprised by the offer. "Really? You want to work with me?"
Andrew nodded. "Yeah, I think it could be beneficial for both of us."
Clark hesitated for a moment before nodding in agreement. "Okay"
