Becky's POV

Freen has been acting weird for days. Usually, she's the one who will always ask to go out with me, to eat outside or just hangout at her place. But these past few days she hasn't asked me out, even when I was the one inviting her, she would just refuse and say she's busy.

Yes, we see each other everyday because of work but that's it. And I know for sure that she's not sulking or anything because she's not acting strangely besides the not asking me out part.

I sigh to myself again for what seems like the thousandth time today.

I can't take this anymore.

I reached out to get my phone and immediately went on Line to chat Freen.

"Babe, can we talk? Are you busy?" I texted.

It seemed like forever but after about five minutes, she replied. Finally.

"Hey bb, sorry, I'm actually doing something right now. But if it's urgent, I can talk for awhile"

Really? What could she be doing this late?

"Oh sorry for bothering you, you can continue with whatever you're doing" I replied.

It's like almost 10 in the evening. She usually stops working around this time to get some rest. What's so important that it's been taking all her time?

I was supposed to turn my phone off but then I saw that Freen was calling.

I answered it even though I'm starting to sulk.

"Thought you were busy? Why are you calling?" I said as soon as I picked up the call.

"Babyyy, are you mad? I'm sorry, I'll always have time for you" she said.

I sighed. Yet again. I really can't stay mad at her.

"It's fine, I understand that you're doing something. I'm just being childish"

"No, no. What you're feeling is valid, I know I haven't been that present lately"

"So you know but still won't tell me what's keeping you busy"

"It's something I can't tell you about yet. I'm sorry baby, I promise I'll make it up to you, okay?"

"Okay, whatever you say"

"I know you're still mad. How about we go on a date this weekend? We don't have anything scheduled, right?"

I try to hide the fact that what she said made me smile a little.

"Really? You don't have anything to do then?" I said.

"Yes, really. So, is it a yes?"

"Okay sure" I said, acting nonchalantly. "Hmm, you can continue what you're doing. I feel better now"

"You sure? I can still talk if you want to"

"No, it's fine. I guess I just really missed you that's why I acted childish earlier "

"You're so cute even when sulking, I wish I'm there right now so I can kiss your pretty face" she said.

I feel my face getting hot.

"Flirt" I said.

She laughed, "It's getting late, I think we both should go to sleep. Specially you, you should take better care of yourself"

"Okay okay, you can stop nagging" I laughed. "Goodnight babe"

"Goodnight baby, sleep well"

"You too, I'll hang up now okay? I love you"

"I love you too baby" she said before I ended the call.

----------

It's finally the weekend.

I tried asking Freen where we'd go for the date but she insisted that it's a surprise.

I look at my phone and saw that Freen already messaged me to say that she's outside.

When I got out of the house, I saw her walking towards me.

Is it just me? I feel like everytime I see her, time seems to slow down. I still can't get used to seeing her like this that's why I, oftentimes, still get shy at every little interaction between us.

She immediately went in for a hug and I hugged her back.

"Becky, I missed you"

"I missed you too, even though we saw each other yesterday" I joked.

"Yeah but that was for work. I like it better when we're meeting outside of it" she said.

"Same here." I whispered.

We pulled out of the hug.

"Let's go, it's gonna be a long ride" she said.

"Still not gonna say where?"

"Nope, just trust me" she said.

"Okay then, let's go." I said.

----------

She didn't lie when she said it was gonna be a long ride. I was not that familiar with places here in Thailand so I still didn't have a clue where we're going.

Not until I started seeing the sea.

"No way? Are we going to where I think we're going?" I said, excitedly.

"Yes, surprise!" she said, smiling widely in the driver's seat.

"You should've told me, I would've dressed more appropriately" I said.

She then held my hand, kissed it and smiled so fondly, "No need for that, I still think that you're the most beautiful whatever you wear"

I smile back at her. I'm really down bad am I?
