CHAPTER FOUR.
apollo and his haiku's

——The nights air was cold, but that didn't matter to Dancia as she looked forward. Despite the events of the night, she found herself admiring the dark landscape that faced her, it loomed of death, despair and secrecy. Nico and Grover had just came back from their walk around the woods, grover excused himself from Nico and walked to his best friend, who was busy staring at Dancia while holding his wounded arm.

Nico rummaged through the bag that the hunters had packed for him. He pulled out a couple figurines, placing them in the snow, from where Dancia sat it looked to be battle replicas of the Greek Gods and Heroes. She tried to get a closer look at them, but all she could figure out was Zeus with his Lightening Bolt, Ares with his spear and Apollo with his sun chariot.

She could over hear the questions Nico was sending her friends way, she chuckled at another question before the next caught both her and Percy off guard. "Is Danica your girlfriend?"

Percy chuckled awkwardly, "Wha-what? No..No she's not." he stuttered over his words, looking over at the dark haired girl. Dancia had turned her head away from the conversation, though she could still hear them talking.

"Then why'd you stutter?"

Percy looked like he was ready to throw Nico over the cliff, but thankfully, Zoë Nightshade interrupted them.

Half an hour had passed when Percy left Artemis' tent, the Goddess assured them dawn was on its way, but you could have fooled anyone. Danica could feel her power began to lessen, even though it was still pitch black outside, dawn was in fact working its way towards them, and the more it came, the more her power began to fade.

It wasn't that her just stopped working in the day, it was just that she no longer held the same energy and power as she did during the night.

The Hunters camp broke quickly, Danica shivered in the snow, she had forgotten to bring her new puffer jacket, and instead was stuck with a velvet cropped zipper.

Bianca Di Angelo sat off to one side with a gloomy look Nico, Danica had heard Percy say that Bianca had joined The Hunters.

Danica walked over to his friends, who were all sat cuddled together for warmth. Grover and Thalia both anxious to hear about how Percy's interaction with the Goddess went. "The last time the Hunters visited camp, it didn't go well." Grover said with a pale face.

"How did they even show up here?" Percy wondered. "I mean, they just appeared out of nowhere."

"And Bianca joined them." Thalia scowled. "It's all Zoë's fault. That stuck up, no good—"

"How can you blame her?" Grover interrupted Thalias long list of hateful words. "Eternity with Artemis."

Finally, the stars and the moon began to disappear, much to Danica's distaste. The power drained from her veins, the night was always when she was at her peak. Artemis muttered, "about time. He's so-o-o lazy during the winter."

"You're, um, waiting for the sunrise?"

"For my brother. Yes."

The sun began its adventure towards them, and Artemis had warned them not to look at him until he parks. Danica felt the coldness wander away from her, until the lights flickered off.

The snow melted away, creating the perfect circle around the Maserati, which would be the explanation to why the snow that once covered the ground around them had melted away, and how her once dry socks are now damp.

The driver got out, he was around seventeen to nineteen. The guy had sandy blonde hair, very good looking and had the looks of a surfer boy in California. He looked very much like Lee Fletcher, but i guess that happens when he's your dad.

"Wow," Thalia muttered. "Apollo is hot."

"I know, right?" Danica agreed.

"He's the sun God." Stated Percy.

"That's not what we meant, Barnacle Boy."

Apollo called out Artemis. "Little sister!"

"What's up? You never call. You never write. I was getting worried."

The two immortal siblings argued, the same childish arguing most had with their siblings (or cousins for Danica).

"I need a favour. I have some hunting to do alone. I need you to take my companions to Camp Half-Blood."

"Sure, sis!" Then he raised his hand. Danica looked at the God, confusion written in her face. "I feel a Haiku coming on."

The Hunters groaned, having clearly already heard Apollo and his Haikus before. Apollo cleared his throat and held up his hand dramatically.

"Green grass breaks through snow.
Artemis pleads for my help.
I am so cool."

Apollo grinned, proud of himself as he awaited for them to applaud him.

"That last line was only four syllables." Artemis told him. "Was it?" he frowned.

"Yes. What about I am so big-headed."

"No, no, that's six syllables." he muttered to himself, then began to try and figure out another line.

In the time that it took him to figure out a new one, Zoë had turned to them and begun the story of how Apollo had taken a trip to Japan, where he created his new found obsession with Haiku's.

"I've got it!" Apollo announced. "I am so amazing. That's five syllables!" He bowed with a very pleased look dancing across his well structured face.
