The next day, Logan was at work. He was stacking planks of wood, when one of his co-workers spoke up.

"Who the hell is this?" But Logan already knew who it was. It was Stryker and Agent Zero.

"Smells like government" Was all he said, before he put his cigar back in his mouth and grabbed his axe, walking over to the man he once worked with.

"My god. You haven't aged a day" Stryker said.

"Clean living" Logan replied sarcastically, raising his cigar.

"You remember Agent Zero?" Stryker asked, pointing at the man on the other side of the car.

"Still shooting first, asking questions later?" Logan sneered, which made Agent Zero whip out his gun and shot the cigar in his mouth.

"Still chewing on cheap cigars?" Zero spat back, making Logan spit out his ruined cigar.

"Boys, please. I have a job for you and your wife" Stryker started to say, but got cut off by Logan.

"My wife and i already have jobs" he responded, causing Zero to snicker.

"Lumberjack and history professor? Eighteen and fifteen grand a year?"

"Eighteen-five and fifteen-eight, plus we haven't had to kill anyone in a while" Logan answered, glaring at the man.

"Starting to miss it? I'm sure little miss Nix does" Zero teased, making Logan grow angrier.

"I'm sure if she were here now, she would" Logan almost growled, making Stryker speak up before anything bad happened.

"Zero, back to the car" The man ordered, which gained Zero a mocking look from Logan. Once Zero was in the car, Stryker turned back to Logan.

"You know, I'm not proud about the way things ended between us. Especially Nix. She was one of the greatest fighters i ever had, and the greatest soldier" Said Stryker.

Logan knew about Laura joining the army under a false name, and after hearing all the work she did, he couldn't be more proud of her.

"Conversation's over" Logan dismissed, as he walked past Stryker not before bumping into his shoulder.

"Playing little house on the prairie with Nix. That just isn't you or her, Logan" This caused Logan to stop walking, and snap his head towards the man following him.

"And you would now, huh?" The lumberjack glared, walking closer to Stryker.

"I would"

"What do you want, Stryker?" Logan finally asked. Stryker then handed a newspaper to Logan.

"Bradley was killed three days ago. Wade before that. I believe that someone is hunting down our old team" Stryker explained.

"Anyone else?" Logan asked, looking away from the paper.

"As far as i know, Victor is safe. But whoever it is has names, addresses" Stryker replied, as Logan slapped the paper against his chest.

"Laura and i can look after ourselves" He said, as he put his axe in the back and got into his truck.

"This is not about you and Nix, Logan. Your country needs you both"

"We're Canadian" Was all Logan said, before he drove off leaving Stryker in a cloud of dust.

"I know you Logan! And i know Nix! I know who you two are!"
