The warm and moderate days have passed, making space for the freezing times of late October to early November. Which means one had to bring out the warm and puffed up jackets. That was the case for everyone in the city of Paris.
Achraf wasn't used to such cold temperatures, Spain's horrendously hot temperatures throughout the whole year made him used to having warm blood. Not to mention the times they'd go to Morocco to visit relatives, where the temperatures were practically the same.
He had to get used to it quickly if he didn't want to find himself firsthand in the hospital because of hypothermia. Cold weather was not his strong suit.
Something that is strong though, and has been growing since the beginning of the year, was his bond with Kylian. Even after the awkward moment during that studying session, where he felt like they got caught doing something they shouldn't when Ethan had barged in. He still remembers the message Kylian had sent him, not long after he left.
Along the lines of, "I'm sorry if I did anything wrong to make it awkward, u looked rlly uncomfortable, and what Ethan said probably didn't help, though he didn't mean it, I hope this doesn't change anything in our friendship :("
God, he still can't get over the sad little smiley face, it just made the message more emotional, in a way. He can't fully describe it. But he remembers telling Kylian it wouldn't change anything, that he knows Ethan didn't mean it, that he was just tired and he himself didn't know why he was acting that way. It was true for the most part after all.
Nevertheless, their friendship has only been growing stronger since then, and he's been grateful for that. Kylian's kindness was out of this world, despite that he'd let his ego get to him on a few occasions, he has visibly been trying to work on it.
Achraf has also found himself noticing the little things about Kylian. Little habits, little reflexes, that the light skinned boy would find himself doing, often related to a certain feeling he felt. Like when he's embarrassed, or flustered, he tends to bite on his lower lip.
So far, it's been two, nearing three months since he's known Kylian, and Kylian's friend group, and Kylian's brother. All of them are amazing people, an emphasis is made on Ethan, because of how unhinged the kid can get sometimes. Though it was a marking trait of his that made him, him.
But the most amazing of them all, was Kylian of course. How could he not be? He was the first one to always help Achraf out with anything French-related, translating everything to Spanish whenever he could.
Though Achraf couldn't deny it, his French has gotten better over the course of these months, at an impressively fast pace even. Even his teacher had said that for someone who couldn't speak a word of French on the first day, he could actually hold a few basic conversations now. He still has much to learn, and still struggles with a lot of things, but he has definitely gotten better compared to when he first arrived.
"Salut, Arra," Kylian had greeted him, and when Achraf lifted his head up to look at the boy, the sight was almost like no other, for some reason. A small, casual smile on his lips, a relaxed look in his eyes, almost in a sleepy way, and by God was it adorable.
Look, they even got to the nickname stage.
"Salut, Kyk's," Achraf returned, a small smile tracing his lips at the sight of his friend. He noticed the boy had his hands behind his back, seemingly keeping it out of the Moroccan's sight. The latter tries to take a peak, but Kylian playfully gets out of his reach on time. They both laugh, but Achraf almost gets caught off by Kylian's overbearingly adorable giggle. Why did everything he did have to be adorable all of a sudden?
