Since he's a sleep demon he doesn't really get to talk to mortals that much and he doesn't wanna have to gard one for the rest of their life because he doesn't trust them

Because of that his mother made him a deal if he gard's a kind mortal and still doesn't like it then he doesn't have to for the next 5 decades ( yes afterlife creatures age very slow) he agreed because what's the worst that can happen ( opps he fell for you, you beautiful mortal )

Now he's your gard from the vile things in the universe and your boyfriend YaY!
