A sweet gurgle erupted from the crib near the king-sized bed. Ivy was still sleeping deeply tucked beneath the covers and klaus didn't want to disturb her after the night they  had. Klaus quietly stood up from bed, bare feet brushing against the soft carpeted floor to the crib where the single inhabitant lay awake after a somewhat short slumber.

Blade kol Mikaelson kicked his legs up in glee and squealed at the sight of his father, chubby arms stretched forward eager to be lifted. Klaus chuckled softly, picking up his son and holding him to his chest. At nine months, he'd grown significantly from the tiny newborn Klaus was so afraid to touch without ivy 's encouraging words to give him confidence.

Blade cuddled his father, tiny fist clutching his shirt tightly and drooling on his chest. He babbled lightly about what one could only guess were his dreams and whatever excitement he'd encountered since waking up in the crib.

Klaus brushed his son's brunette curls unable to get used to how soft they were. They came directly from his mother., dimples, eyes, and smile, came from his father. Ivy cried when she first saw those blue eyes. They were tears of joy since she wished more than anything for their child to have his eyes.

"Babababa," blade babbled louder, eager to continue his tale. He was much compared to the previous night when his anguished screams made his mother nearly herself with worry. Cutting a new tooth was no small feat. Klaus stuck his little finger into the baby's mouth to feel the offending new dentition. Fully out and formed.

"Let's be a bit quiet, Blade . Wouldn't want to wake your mother, now, would we?" Klaus whispered.

Blade nodded once as if he understood a word his father spoke. Mostly he was just entranced. Hearing Klaus speak was his favorite thing ever, they'd discovered. It likely came from all those times Klaus spoke to him when ivy was still pregnant. Words whispered to her belly that relayed his fears and excitement for his and ivy firstborn.

Ivy was still fast asleep so Klaus crept out of the bedroom to his studio which was his favorite place to take their son. He sat on the bench, pushing the notebooks and pencils out of the way. Blade tried to grab a pencil but was deterred lest he pokes himself in the eye. He whined in displeasure that his daddy would dare ruin his fun.

"He is going to have Klaus' stubbornness." Frey said as the rest of her family nodded their heads.
Klaus gave his family an offensive look.
As ivy covers her mouth trying not to laugh.

Not until you're old enough my little wolf. I've told you that before." Klaus soothed by bouncing him gently on his lap, one hand splayed on his stomach to steady him.

Blade didn't seem content with that answer and released a tiny huff. Klaus snorted a laugh. Just nine months and already such a character. The propensity for drama was all him though. Payback for his years of histrionics.

Marcel  and ash and Hope is the same way. Just so dramatic," He lamented. Blade gave him a wide gummy smile at the mention of his older brothers and sister .

Don't give me that look. I know they  sneaks you animal crackers when they visits." Klaus patted blade s back. The baby just smiled, chewing on a chubby fist as though his dark secret wasn't just revealed. "You're lucky I don't tell your mother."

Blade adored Hope and ash and marcel and basically all his other family.

Amba?" Blade babbled.

"Marcel," Klaus pronounced.

"Maba!"

He snorted. "Close enough I suppose."

No doubt those three's would run him ragged in the years to come with all sorts of schemes. Deep down he looked forward to it. Blade looked around the room curious until his gaze settled on the large unfinished canvas near the door. He stretched his little fist towards it. "Eh, da?"
