Alaric, MG, Josie and Ethan move into Dorian's office. "This isn't about us, MG. It's about what's best for Ethan," Alaric says. "Is it? Or is it more like keeping our secrets safe at his expense?" MG asks. "Burdening Ethan with it won't end well, either. Dad's right. We can't risk it," Josie says. "No offense, Jo. But what are you really worried about risking?"
MG asks. "Do I get a vote?" Ethan asks. "Well, this isn't a democracy," Alaric says. "But we can hear what you have to say," Josie says. "I think it's really cool that MG has superpowers, because.....I'd be dead without them," Ethan says. "And I understand why you'd want to keep that a secret. And I'm happy to keep it," Ethan adds. "Yes, I believe you. But I made your mother a promise that I'd look after you and keep you safe," Alaric says. "MG? Please compel him. That's my decision," Alaric says. "Compel me to do what?" Ethan asks. MG puts a hand on the human's shoulder, "There's no reason to be scared. You had a bad day. You got cut from the football team and you're mad about it, so you went home after gym class. But you're gonna wake up tomorrow feeling better. And you're gonna find what makes you happy that's not football, then go after it. But you're not going to remember this conversation or anything that happened with us today," MG compels. "I feel better already. I don't remember a thing," Ethan says. "So you don't remember the thing you're not supposed to remember?" Josie asks. "Is there any possibility that you told his mom about vervain?" MG asks Alaric. "Mm. Yeah.
Son of a bitch," the former Headmaster says.
"Shocking," Bonnie says. "You let someone know about the way not to be compelled and they use it," Elena says.

Cleo and Kaleb are in the library, "This is quite intense," Cleo says. "At least the dude's little. Minotaurs, gargoyles, Headless Horseman...that's when the real intensity kicks in," Kaleb says. "Hey. It's okay," Kaleb says, holding her hand. "You get used to it," Kaleb adds. "I do not want to, Cleo says. "I thought this school was perfect for me.. secure, enlightened, creative, Cleo says. "But now I am unsure if I wish to be a member of your Squad," Cleo adds. "Look, I used to feel the same way about this place.
Just take it from me: Don't let fear drive you away from.....something good," Kaleb says. "Uh, especially when you don't have anything to be afraid of," Kaleb adds. "From what you have all told me, Malivore is terrifying. So explain how I'm supposed to feel safe," Cleo asks. "Uh...uh, maybe 1, uh.....just..totally misread that whole situation," Kaleb says. "I'm...sorry. Ask again when our lives are not in jeopardy," Cleo says. "I'm gonna go get, uh, uh, another. another book," Kaleb says. "Yeah. Okay," Cleo says. Kaleb leaves the room and there is growling immediately after.

"He is trying to protect her but keep her interest," Hope says. "I know that feeling," Lucifer says, looking at the blonde Saltzman.
Hope looks at the map, "It's here," she says. Lucifer spins a baseball bat. "It's on the move," Lizzie says, looking over Hope's shoulder. "Get ready," ivy says. "I don't mean to interrupt this awesome teamwork on display, but where you need me, exactly?" Landon asks. "Bird brains," Lucifer groans. "Anywhere is fine. If you really wanted to help, you could slather yourself in honey," Lizzie adds. "Uh, it doesn't matter. It's not coming," Landon says. "What do you mean?" Hope and ivy and Lucifer say. "The gremlin...the gremlin took Cleo," Kaleb says.
"Clearly, he did not protect her well enough," corey says. "About as well as you protected caroline from a member of the Five," Elitoy shoots back. "Uh, that was rude," Caroline says. "Rude, maybe. True, definitely,"
Lucifer says.
Kaleb picks up a cross bow, "Put that down. You're not coming," Lizzie says. "Like hell. Cleo got grabbed on my watch. I'm getting her back," Kaleb says. "So you guys uncovered how to incapacitate/murder a gremlin prior to her being kidnapped?" Lizzie asks. "No, but I will," Kaleb says. "Personally," he adds. "Okay, who's gonna stay here and keep an eye on the school?" Hope asks. "You mean Landon. You miss the part where I suck at protecting people?" Kaleb asks. "Kaleb's right. Not about the sucking.
And before you tell me why I'm wrong, there are, like, four other students at this school and the monster isn't after me for once," Landon says. "I don't need protection," Landon adds. "So let me handle the research while the three of you handle finding Cleo together," Landon says. "He really likes her," Enzo says. "Which is interesting because if you were in danger, no one would be able to stop me, Lucifer says.
At the high school, Ethan roots through his book bag and pulls out an orange medicine bottle. "Found it. My mom said it's an herbal supplement to help with my arm. She sends me the stuff all the time," Ethan says. Alaric looks at the bottle and then hands it to Josie, the girl opens the bottle, pours a pill into her hand. MG holds out his hand and Josie crushes the capsule and something pours into MG's hand. The vampire's hand begins to burn, "Mm. Yeah.
That... Mm. That stings like vervain," MG says, shaking his hand trying to get the vervain off quicker. "Holy crap, is vervain your kryptonite?" Ethan asks. The former Headmaster turns to the human, "When was the last time you took one of those pills?" he asks. "Uh, this morning, before I worked out, around 6:00," Ethan replies. "A dose that size, it should be out of your system in a couple of hours. Then you and MG can try having that, uh, conversation again," Alaric says to Ethan. The man turns to Alaric and hands over a phone, "If something different than that happens, give me a call," he says, MG nods. "Where are you going?" Josie asks. "I think you and I need to talk privately," Alaric says. The door opens and both of the Saltzmans leave the room and the door closes behind them.
