"Ivy , ash and Lucifer , hope ," Clarke calls. "We can work this out," he says. "Don't do this to me," he pleads. The black hole reappears, "Listen to me, whatever this is, it's gonna destroy you. It'll rip you apart," Clarke says. "Finn, Henrik," hope and ash call and their Uncles appear to help them.
"Please break the spell so I can help you," Clarke pleads.
Henrik uses his magic and breaks the spell on Clarke and he runs forward and helps the girls and boys.
"You're welcome," Clarke says. "Oh, crap," ivy says as she sits up and turns around towards Clarke. "Not exactly what I was expecting," Clarke says. A monster appears and spreads it's large wing and opens its red eyes. "Oh, crap,"
Clarke echoes. "Run," ash and hope say in unison as they help ivy up.
"Something about this is not right," Kol says. "What are you talking about," Bonnie says. "Every time one of the they does magic a black hole appears," Kol says."Almost as if the two are connected," Klaus continues.
"Well they figured it out before we did," hope says. "We were in a stressful situation," ash says, deciding to defend their actions.
Landon takes a deep breath as she breaks the surface of the lake. She gets back onto the dock only to be face to face with Josie. "I changed my mind about the fireworks," Josie says.
"It's not a big deal," Landon says, dismissing the dark haired witch's concern. "Who do you think you're talking to?" Josie says. "My sister is the queen of self-harm. I know it when I see it," Josie says. "I'm not harming myself because I can't be harmed," Landon says. "That's the point," Josie says. "Where, in any of your phoenix research, does it say that the number of times that you can resurrect is infinite?"
Josie asks. "Where does it say it isn't?" Landon shoots back.
"Hurting yourself doesn't make anything better," Josie says.
"It never does," she adds. "You're right. Maybe I should focus on other people's problems instead of my own," Landon says, hoping to hurt Josie's feelings. "That's not what I'm doing," Josie exclaims. "That's a lie," Landon says.
"How do you know?" Josie asks. "Because when you lie as often as I used to, you develop a gut feeling," Landon explains. "I just know," she says. "Okay. What are we supposed to do?" Josie asks. "You tell me," Landon says.
"Because, to be honest with you, I'm kind of at a loss," she adds. "Maybe we should both stop worrying so much about dying. Start living a little?" Josie offers. Landon smiles and nods.
"Used to," hope asks. "Seriously, I mean she lies more than she breathes oxygen," Lizzie says.
Kaleb and his family are on the roof top having a party. MG is standing on the outer edge of the party watching everything. Kaleb approaches him and they watch as the family vote on the different barbeques. "Relax, Special K," MG says, massaging his shoulders. "It's just barbecue," MG says not realizing the intensity of the situation. "Now, look here, I stood by you when I thought you murdered one of our friends," Kaleb says. "But you say something stupid like that again, we ain't brothers, man," Kaleb adds. "Okay," MG says, giving up on trying to calm Kaleb down. "Damn," Kaleb exclaims suddenly. "Another vote for my creepy-ass uncle," Kaleb says as another man approaches the two Kaleb exclaims suddenly. "Another vote for my creepy-ass uncle," Kaleb says as another man approaches the two teenagers. "I'm Earl," he introduces. "Uh, Milton, Milton Greasley," MG says. "That's right. I heard about you," Earl says. "Good things, I hope," MG says, nervously. "Yeah, bloodsucker, all good," Earl says, letting the young vampire know that he was aware of the supernatural. "You got his ass," Kaleb says, completing a handshake with his Uncle. "Aww, Uncle Earl seems like a good person," Elena says. "It's good for them to be able to joke about MG accidentally killing Landon," Lizzie says. "Yeah, I mean I can joke about Landon dying because I like parties,"
Hope says.

"Hey, I tried your meat," Earl says, turning to Kaleb. "Yeah?" Kaleb asks excited. "Solid second place," Earl teases. "See you on the podium," Earl continues. "Yeah, but this time you'll be looking up," Kaleb shoots back. "Do you really think we can win?" MG asks. "Hell no, man. I know we can," Kaleb exclaims excitedly. "It's like I've been saying: best summer ever," MG says. The party continues, "Um, about that, I may have found someone. That's what's up," MG says. "Yeah. She here?" Kaleb asks. "Yeah," MG says. "Oh, which one?" Kaleb asks, excited for his friend. "Uh, orange top," MG says, pointing her out. "Best summer," MG says, turning to Kaleb hoping for a high five. "Never," Kaleb says.
"I want Kaleb and MG to win, to start the semester off correctly," Bonnie says.
"You're talking about Kym?" Kaleb asks. "Is-is that her, is that her name?" MG asks, confused. "MG, are you kidding me? I've told you a million stories about Kym," Kaleb says.
"Kym. Your sister?" MG asks. "Th-The who was away, building houses for homeless people?" MG asks. "Look, man, have all the summer fun you want. Just don't be having it with her," Kaleb says, suddenly getting overprotective of his sister.
"Oh bloody hell," Klaus and Kol says. "He is just digging himself a bigger hole," Elijah says.
AUGUST
Josie tells her sister all about the dates she has had with jame since the last time they spoke, "Songwriting? Stop," Lizzie complains. "I can't take it anymore," she complains dramatically. "But in other news, somewhere in Belgium, Penelope Park's black heart just exploded," Lizzie says smiling. "You and Gizmo the Gremlin?" Lizzie complains getting back on the subject. "Actually, Gizmo's a Mogwai," Josie corrects. "Oh, God. He's got you speaking nerd," Lizzie complains.
"Relax. We're just friends," Josie says. "You are not friends.
You're a montage," Lizzie says. "It's been fun," Josie admits.
"And let me remind you that the only reason you are acting like this about me and Landon is because you are trying to distract yourself from the secret admirer necklace," Josie says. Lizzie gasps dramatically. "Jo, I told you that in secrecy," Lizzie says. "And I am trying to ignore the fact that someone gave me a necklace with my name engraved on it," she adds flippantly. "Mom and I taking the speed train to Rome for the weekend. So get your ass across the pond," Lizzie says changing the subject. "Love you," Josie says, as Lizzie disappears.
"Ewww," Lizzie says. "Ash and Josie , Always and Forever," hope says.
"How long do you think we've been here?" Lucifer asks. Hard to say," Clarke says. "A week? A month? A year? What difference does it make?" Clarke says. A monster growls and Clarke flinches, "What the hell was that?" he asks. "Uh, a gargoyle, I think," ivy says. "I killed one once with my friends," she adds. "What," lucifer asks. "You were in New Orleans," Hope and ash say.
'''You were in New Orleans,' is not an explanation,"
Elijah says. "Except for the fact that I was only in New Orleans one time when there were monsters coming to the school," lucifer argues. "What about prior to monsters coming to the school," Kol asks. "We are not talking about that right now," lucifer denies.
So why is a supervillain like you scared?" Hope asks Clarke.
"I'm not a villain. I never have been. I'm just a kid who's afraid of his father and will do anything to get away from him," Clarke says. "I've spent my entire life's been about figuring out how," he adds. "And failing miserably," ash mutters. "Papilio lux, ivy casts and four butterflies are created, one purple, one Aqua and one green and one red . "You think that's our ticket out?" Clarke asks, suddenly nervous about the outcome. "No, it's a comfort spell," ash explains. "It's, it's supposed to provide peace of mind," hope adds. "Thank you," Clarke says.
"The colors made a dent in your lives, they are still prominent in your teenage life," Kol says. "Well when literally everything in our life was decided by color, they are kind of hard to ignore," Hope says her voice laced with sass. "How exactly did we choose the colors,"Rebekah asks. "Uh, I don't know," ash says. "Maybe, you picked them out of a hat," ivy says. "Or looked deep into our eyes and chose the color that you thought would suit us," Hope says, turning her bright blue eyes onto her parents.
The vortex appears for a second and Clarke grabs onto
Lucifers arm and it disappears. "Why did you do that?"
Lucifer asks, shoving his arm off. "Do what?" Clarke asks. All of the sudden, the mikaelsons are distracted by small monsters scurrying around them. "Invisique," ivy, hope and ash and Lucifer say suddenly, making them invisible. "Meaning?" Clarke asks. "We are invisible to them," ivy says.
"You're invisible. What about me?" Clarke asks. Ivy makes him invisible as well. "Guess we're partners after all," Clarke says. "We didn't say that," hope says. "But you did just save my life," Clarke says. "Because you're keeping things from us, and we want to know why," ash says before casting another spell. "Veritas tempus," he says.
"Would you stop with the magic already?" Clarke says. "It's not fair," he adds.
"Think before you answer. Is it unfair, or do you deserve it?" Ivy asks, knowing that spell. "I totally deserve it," Clarke says. "What? Wh-Why-why did I just say that?" Clarke says, shocked by his own reply. "Because I cast a truth spell,"
Hope says. "You can only answer us honestly," lucifer adds.
"Now, how does that make you feel?" Ivy asks. "Like this isn't gonna end well for me," Clarke admits.
"Why do I have a feeling that my life would be so much easier if I had a permanent truth spell on you," Kol says. "Uh, well let's see perhaps you have been paying attention," lucifer says. bring him dinner every day at 5:00. I mean, sometimes he doesn't come out of the woods, but he's always here,"
Landon explains to Josie as they walk through the old mill."Well, that doesn't mean something happened," Josie says, trying to calm her down. "Raf's a wolf. It's not like he wears a watch," Josie says sarcastically. "But every day, Josie, for months, and it's been three days, and Maybe I am just assuming the worst, but the worst is usually what happens.
And it's bad enough that he's stuck as a wolf, but if-if he's lost, he's got no one. I can't let him be alone," Landon rants."Landon. It's gonna be okay," Josie says interrupting his rant. "We're gonna find him. I'll do a locator spell, and we're gonna track his movements, okay? I'm gonna help you," she says.
"Told you," Klaus and ivy say in unison as they turn to Tyler.
"This entire time, we've been working on a theory, you know, trying to figure out why the vortex comes," hope starts. "And then we realized, it's always after one of do magic," ash says. "Are we getting warm?" Ivy asks.
"Scalding," Clarke says. "You know, it makes a lot of sense when you think about it.
"We thought that we were wrong about us being the only ones who could destroy him, but I think our actual mistake was that we were not full activated when we jumped into Malivore," lucifer says. "We've never died, so our vampire sides hasn't been activated yet," hope adds. "And what realizing now is that Malivore doesn't want us here. We are toxic to him," ivy says. "Finish that sentence, please?" Hope says, feigning innocence. "Malivore's trying to expel you. To send you back from where you came. And every time he tries, I grab hold of you to try to get expelled with you," Clarke explains. Hope smirks. "But as much as my father wants you to leave, he wants to keep torturing me here even more," he finishes.
"Then it's official. All we have to do is wait," Aah says. "For what?" Clarke asks. "Uncle Finn," hope and Lucifer calls. The oldest Mikaelson male appears and grabs onto Clark as the vortex reappears. "There's our ride," ivy says. "Ivy you can't leave me here," Clarke pleads as he tries to fight off the Original. "I can't leave with you," ivy shoots back.
"Well, at least you figured it out," Kol says.
"We have to get back to our friends. I have to get back to Landon," ash says. "I can't lie, right?" Clarke asks, ivy raises her eyebrows wanting him to continue. "So you know I'm telling the truth when I say that if you help me go back, too, you'll never see me again. I promise," Clark pleads.
"We're sorry. But do you understand why we can't take that risk?" Hope asks. "Yeah. I would do the same thing if I were you," Clarke admits. "God," he exclaims, hating the spell.
"Good luck, Clarke," Finn says as his nieces and nephews and sister in law disappear. After a minute, Finn disappears as well.
"That truth spell is killing his arguments," Kai says.
"Yeah, well, it was funny," hope says.
Josie is sitting across from Landon setting up a spell.
"Think of my blood like the red line crossing the map in Raiders of the Lost Ark. It'll flow wherever it senses Raf. And it'll show us the path," Josie explains. "Thank you for this," Landon says. "Of course. It's honestly child's play. It's how I used to cheat at hide-and-go-seek. And just give it a second," Josie says. "I want you to know, I wasn't trying to hurt myself. On the Fourth. I wasn't trying to, like, self-destruct or anything," Landon admits. "Mm, could've fooled me," Josie replies. " don't know. Maybe it started like that, but when I go under, I see images. Memories, maybe. There's something buried in my brain, and when I die, I get a glimpse of it, but. Maybe it's nothing. Maybe it's the answer to everything. I don't know," Landon explains. "No answer is more important than making sure that you don't accidentally overshoot your phoenix quota," Josie says.
"Please, overshoot your Phoenix quota," Klaus cheers.
Ash groans and hides his face in his hands.
"Are you happy?" Landon asks. "What do you mean?" Josie asks. "I mean, since we started hanging out I mean, until Raf went missing I think I was finally starting to get happy-ish," Landon says. "I'm definitely happy-ish. I just don't know if I can be fully happy until I know that Lizzie and I are gonna survive past the Merge," Josie says. "Yeah. Look, I don't want to cause problems, but I think that your dad is lying to you about the Ascendant." Landon says, hesitantly.
"How do you know?" Josie asks. "I just know," Landon whispers.
"I mean she is not wrong about Alaric lying but being a Phoenix does not give her a sixth sense for when someone is lying," Lizzie says.
Alaric is writing in a notebook in a bar. "Forensic detective?" a woman asks. "Close. True crime novelist,"
Alaric replies. "You're a liar," Josie exclaims. "Josie," Alaric says. "You can't be in here," the bartender says to Josie."She can't be in here," the bartender says. "Yeah, I'm aware. Just give me a second," Alaric replies. "What's going on?"
Alaric asks. "All summer I've been worried about you. Got to take care of Dad, make sure that he doesn't fall into a depression or buy a motorcycle. I gave up my summer with Mom to make sure that you wouldn't be alone, and this entire time you've been lying to me about the Ascendant?" Josie demands. "I- I'm calling the cops," the bartender threatens. "Let the man talk to his daughter," the woman says, dropping a badge onto the bar. "Dad, how could you?"
Josie asks.
Lizzie sits on the couch in one of the dorms. "Dad told me everything. The Ascendant is a lock to a prison world. It's a long story," Josie says, shocking Lizzie. "But we helped lock Uncle Kai down there, and he might already hate us," Josie says. "Jo, we were five, we did not even know what we were doing," Lizzie reassures. Josie sighs, "How do we know whether he is mad at us or not," she asks. "Well, then let's go the minute I get back," Lizzie says standing up. Josie moves over to her desk and looks in the drawer for the Ascendant, "Lizzie, it's gone," Josie says. "What?" Lizzie asks. "The Ascendant was right here and now it's gone," Josie exclaims. "Who knew it was there," Lizzie asks. Josie shrugs, "Maybe Dad did," Josie says. "He stole it back from us," Lizzie whispers.
