Beomgyu's breath hitched as he saw Yeonjun standing in the doorway. He looked spaced out and thrilled. What was he doing here?
"Uhm Ha-ri is in her room, I can get her for you..?" Beomgyu assumed, stepping aside to let Yeonjun in.
Yeonjun shook his head. "Oh, you're looking for my dad? He is-" Beomgyu cut himself as a thought came into his mind.
Maybe he wanted to ask his father of his blessing before he got to marry Ha-ri.
"No Beomgyu, I wanna talk to you" Yeonjun finally spoke, still feeling a bit lightheaded.
Beomgyu gulped and pointed at himself "Me? Okay..." He started to walk upstairs, Yeonjun following.
"Who was it Gyu?" the voice of his mom echoed through the halls which made the two boys freeze.
Beomgyu looked back to face Yeonjun. "Tell her it was the mailman" he whispered.
"Just the mailman mom" Beomgyu yelled, and nodded to Yeonjun.
He hadn't talked to him since the party, and it was awkward as hell to talk normally again. Beomgyu asked himself what could have brought Yeonjun here. Maybe a favour? Or something about school? It looked like it was something private though.
Closing the door behind him, the two stood in the middle of the bedroom.
"Sorry it's a bit messy here" Beomgyu mumbled, looking around his stuffed room.
Yeonjun slightly chuckled and shook his head "Oh it's okay I don't mind."
Taking out the folded paper from his pocket, he handed it to Beomgyu "Did you know this?"
A shiver ran through the boy's spine as he immediately recognized the content of the papers.
He looked up to Yeonjun who was waiting for a reaction. Beomgyu always thought Yeonjun knew about the contract. But right now, his face told him something different.
"You didn't?" The younger answered confused.
Yeonjun's lips slightly parted in disbelief "You knew...all this time?"
"No don't get me wrong, I only found out about a few weeks ago" Beomgyu explained, knitting the paper between his fingers, "but I thought you knew, since you were a part of the contract?"
Yeonjun shook his head. Another thing he got fooled in. He sighed loudly, taking back the paper. "No, my dad told me about it today, asking me to marry asap Ha-ri and stuff"
"Oh, I can get how you must feel"
Beomgyu was a bit worried right now. He had sent that contract not even an hour ago to the press. Soon it's going to be everywhere. Should he tell Yeonjun?
Yeonjun sighed, dropping himself on the bed. "It's just, I don't know what to do now. Like Ha-ri is not a bad person, but I don't even know if I really liked at this point all this time. But this shit feels illegal as hell"
Beomgyu sat next to him, his lips pressed together. "Maybe you liked the way people treated you because of her"
The elder glanced to the boy next to him "Yeah"
"Then I guess you want to end the contract?"
"Not yet." Yeonjun answered, glancing back to his hands, "I have an idea in mind" while saying that, Yeonjun's eyes sparkled a little bit.
