day 84/85
josh finally got himself back in his bed. he was able to calm himself down. he wanted to see tyler again. to see if he was still mad. to see what he was gonna do to him.
he thought and thought and eventually ended up falling asleep.
he shuffled around when he heard some clanging noise.
josh groggily sat up and looked around, slightly choking on his breath as he saw tyler standing at the end of his bed.
"i made you some soup." tyler said. josh couldn't tell what kind of mood he was in yet.
"t-thank you." josh said. he cautiously sat up and grabbed the bowl from tyler.
"don't worry, i'm not gonna hurt you." tyler said, a slight smile on his face. "i came to apologize."
"it's okay. i'm sorry for pushing." josh quietly said.
"how's your neck?" tyler asked. he sat down across from josh.
"it's okay. just stings a little." josh said, rubbing it.
"we'll get it cleaned up." tyler nodded. josh smiled and nodded.
josh ate his soup. tyler sat there silently, looking like he didn't know what to say.
"tyler?" josh spoke up, fiddling with his spoon.
"hmm?" tyler said.
"why do you think i'm so capable of murder?" josh asked.
tyler just looked at him.
"what made you pick me. why do you see it in me?" josh said. "i was just a college student. i had a boyfriend. a best friend. i don't get it." josh asked, angry.
"what about me was so sinister that made you take me from my life?"
tyler started chuckling. he sighed and looked up.
"i watched you for a about 2 months." tyler said.
"oh" josh said.
"i saw you for the first time at walmart. you and ryan were shopping, getting food and stuff for your apartment. i just immediately caught you out the corner of my eye." tyler said.
"i felt this, this feeling in my chest. it was like a heavy weight was sat on it, but it was a good, dark feeling. as soon as i saw you i just felt," tyler sighed, trailing off.
"i followed you back to your apartment, and saw which was yours. first floor, apartment 1211. i just couldn't leave the thought of you alone."
"everytime you talked, or walked, or or smiled," tyler started. "i saw the darkness in it."
josh looked at him confused.
"it's hard to explain. i i i just," he paused. "i felt like you were what i was looking for. you are the goal to all of this," he gestured around the room. "me and you, we we're meant to do this together."
"you're fucking insane." josh shook his head, curling his knees up. "you're insane." he muttered, tears filling his eyes.
tyler stayed silent, just staring at him. the silence scared josh.
"then how come i've never had the urge to kill someone? how come i still feel like this is all wrong?" josh asked, teary eyed. "i cant kill anyone!"
"you just have to take that first step. the first draw of blood. get the scent of it." tyler said deeply.
"i don't want to." josh whimpered.
"yes you do." tyler said. "you've wanted to the moment you got in here. and whether it was to kill me, or someone else, you did and do want to kill."
josh looked down at his fingers.
"it's not fair." josh said quietly.
"no, it's not." tyler shook his head. "it's not fair. you getting taken. my abusive family. none of it's fair. so why should anyone else live a fair life? why didnt we get the option?"
josh looked up at him. tyler moved closer.
"we have the opportunity to take people's lives, with our own hands. we're taking it out on people that don't matter." tyler said.
josh nodded.
"do you understand?" tyler smiled. josh paused.
after a few moments, he nodded.
"me and you." tyler nodded.
