Peter and MJ were talking together for you know for a few minutes there going to that place
Where MJ was letting out her feelings but even though her makeup was smudged and messed up
she just wiped it off cleaning it realizing she didn't need makeup to look nice or feel it
plus it would be more questionable if she came back with smudged makeup so having none looked like she didn't try to put so much effort
not like she would be the type to look down on girls who do becuase that's their personal choice and this was hers and hopefully they respected that to
They went back to sitting down at the table and the wedding didn't even start becuase people were just setting things up still so it didn't start quite yet
"Hey, guys! Isn't this place so beautiful?" Gayle said laughing, she and her sons set chairs around the tables beside the dance floor
Which confused them on the whole thing like there wasn't a huge scene at the wedding
"The centerpieces and flowers are on their way, the food is getting prepared, and the DJ is getting all of the music queued!"
They end up just doing a lot of busy work, which includes: making sure all of the plates and utensils are in their exact right spots, centering the centerpieces perfectly, and then testing out the microphones and speakers to make sure everything works the way it should since it would upset the aunts and Madeline if they didn't do anything

this is what it looked like for the dinner section and over there was a desert section there
Everyone brought their food there you know whatever was best there were some things plenty for guests there

"It's about an hour now until it starts," MJ tells him
yeah I know Peter said annoyed
It's all pointless really, but staying even mildly busy keeps Peter's mind off the things
he just doesn't want to think about how much he has to act like it was nothing when the things Madeline has done to her daughter just made him feel uncomfortable and anxious
how he was the one to be expected to be normal that abuse anyone with a brain can say so
but after that, they eventually started looking for things to do
"Do you wanna just go sit down now? I wanna get a good seat and people should be getting here soon MJ said with a shy smile
yeah sure Peter said with a smile back both of them walking side to side where the ceremony took place
MICHELLE Madeline said in a low shout then side eyeing peter when she saw him keeping his eye on her
yes Mom Michelle said annoyed
your makeup oh my god peter your suit she smudged it oh my god this is my sister's special place like Madeline said trying to control her temper then taking her daughter's hand to take her somewhere to fix her makeup
MJ puts her hand over as a stop sign so Peter doesn't go after them or think for the worst of this like he always does not like he does make things worse
but not that he does she just doesn't want to anger her mom more by having her attack peter
Madeline is fixing MJ's face the one not like it needed fixing but that's how Madeline called it her face needed that fix when all she did was added some makeup to her
Because it doesn't have any makeup on it she added some of it again because she wanted her to look good so she brought her makeup just in case it gets smudged or dries off at some point so she brought that to fix it
After she was done she sat at the table she and peter were sitting at before there with Madeline and her aunts sitting there too joining in beside the bride Anna who didn't show up yet
MJ and Peter were just slient not adding anything to those judgemental aunts and mom Michelle had so they waited for them to break that silence for them to ask them questions
because it was more likely they get offended usually by everything they say so why should they bother with it
Peter, I just wanted to say im sorry Madeline said with a shy smile having a different nice personality
It's okay Peter said still having some spite against her he knew that it was probably an act so he just went with it he didn't mess things up by just arguing it
I can't believe you got a boyfriend geez I never thought that would ever happen Tommy said in amusement

oh dear you shouldn't have picked those shoes becuase it makes her look taller than him not exactly a masculine thing you know after all Libby said disgusted with a little smile
oh but they're such a lovely couple anyway Gayle said with a smile
I mean about time there here we thought she would be alone forever Madeline said in an exaggerated smile as all of them laughed except for Peter and Michelle
Peter can always feel her energy change after comments like that, and see the real smile slip off briefly, before quickly being replaced with a forced smile he hates having to see her like this especially when she probably felt pressured into wearing heels she didn't want to wear in the first place
dont listen to them Peter said to her in a whisper he nudges her arm, trying to lighten the mood as they make their way back to their seats
Music is playing now, and the ceremony is only ten minutes away so everyone's getting settled into their seats
"They're just idiots Love Peter said with a smile hoping it made her feel better
"Yeah, I know," MJ said as she nods, looking down at her hands and taking in a breath
Peter has a little concerned frown on his face
"Michelle," her mom said as she walks up to them talking in a humiliated, hushed tone, and Peter already wants to roll his eyes at her call
