Lucy's P.O.V
As the sun set over the mossy stand
still castle, Lucy couldn't help but gaze out of her only window. She watched the gentle breeze shake the earth down below. "Why am I still being kept here...it has been years." She whispered to herself dejectedly.
For the past 7 years she has been held within the same room, due to her father, Jude Heartfilia. She spoke out against his plans for her future, she disobeyed his orders once and now she is practically a prisoner. It is very lonely in her 12 story high tower, though she is quite used to being secluded from her father, he rarely makes contact with her, even before he banished her to this cramped room. She may be the princess, heiress to the Heartfilia's, yet she doesn't feel as such.
Each night she would perform the same routine; receive a meal from the outside staff, write in her journal, then stare deeply into the sky above, for this is all she could really do. With each blink, she felt her future and freedom pass by, vanishing. How cruel could her father treat her, was she to stay here for all of her young life? That is certainly no way to live.
The night carried on normally, the stars greeted her once again, like they always do. But instead of the Darkness embracing her, sending goose bumps along her body, she was startled by the warmth and presence of Orange flames. These flames didn't quite reach her, not like the others; guards posted around the Heartfilia castle were screaming in agony as their skin burned off like a melting candle. She heard their cries vividly, even though they were across the courtyard, but she could see everything. "Dragon?!" She listened to the confusion of her fathers men. A mighty roar broke the chaos, sending chills down Lucy's spine.
Natsu's P.O.V
Lust. Power. Rage. Desire.
Natsu's thoughts were clouded with greed as he rampaged through the guarded castle. This place is no stranger to him, he has been here. Maybe not directly in it, but he could hear every single conversation. He was planning to take this castle long ago, he was planning to kill everyone with in. But once he saw that single standing tower, inside to the window sat a sorrowful, beautiful girl. "Some one take me away from here." He would hear her beg to no one. The desperation in her voice, sent his mind tumbling down.
He always thought she had the power to leave, but the more he observed, the clearer the realization came. She couldn't leave, she never left that room. "She is just a girl." He would tell himself, yet he never found the will power to take the castle, not until tonight.
His flames erupted from his mouth, sending groups of men to their demise. Natsu was not fully a dragon, perhaps half at most. While his body looked like a normal human male, his back held wings twice his actual size. His teeth were sharp and predator like, his skin sometimes grew scales. He had a set of short sharp horns protruding out of the top of his head. Natsu's sense were highly above the ordinary, he could hear from miles away as well as see clearly.
Natsu could practically sense her eyes on him as he battled down below. He looked up towards the window, true to his prediction, his dark orbs met her brown eager ones.
Lucy's P.O.V
Breaking eye contact, Lucy gasped. 'What was that?' She clutched her increasingly unbalanced heart. She backed away from the window momentarily, but was persuaded back when she heard the flapping of wings become more and more loud. Sticking her head outside, she was face to face with the dragon. She pulled back, "Who are you? You don't really look like a dragon.." She mumbled the last part to herself.
"Natsu." He stated simply as he climbed through the window slowly.
"What are you doing here?" She backed away slightly.
"To take you away." His gaze pierced her face.
"Take me..?" Lucy placed her hand on her chin with confusion.
"What do they call it...oh, I guess i am the 'knight in shitty armor', then." He emphasized shitty with air quotations.
"Don't you mean shining armor?" She couldn't help crack a smirk at his comment.
"What kind of knight comes to the rescue in shining armor? That's a weak knight." He argued.
"Why?"
"That means the knight didn't go through hell to reach his princess." He avoided her eyes.
Natsu's P.O.V
He saw her smile to herself. He mentally cursed himself for showing his soft side. Though this whole time, she showed no fear towards him, not once.
"How do you know I want to be taken away?" She asked him softly.
"Because you told me." He half lied, technically she did, just not directly.
"I did?" She tilted her head.
"Well-Uh yes." He scrambled for his words, trying to choose the right path where he didn't sound like a complete stalker.
But instead of poking him for more information, she nodded understandingly.
Lucy P.O.V
"Ok, Natsu. If you are really willing.." Her adrenaline spiked, the thought of actually leaving this room almost sent her into full ecstasy.
Without a word, his calloused hand reached out in between them.
Not even hesitating, she gently wrapped her hand around his welcoming one.
