Chapter 11: The claim

With a quick dash of movement and brute strength, Natsu and Lucy struck in different directions.
Lucy wrapped her whip around its legs, giving it a pull, with great effort, the beast stumbled.
"Now, Natsu!" She yelled giving him the perfect shot.
Letting out a yell of dominance, Natsu commanded his flames to fight along side him.
As Natsu swung, landing a direct facial hit, the yellow flames intertwined with his orange ones.
Natsu's P.O.V
"N-Natsu, what's happening?" Lucy gasped as Natsu continued to join with the flames.
"This is weird." He said as he continued to punch the beast.
"He's done for!" Natsu announced as he winded his arm behind him. With both flames surrounding him, he released his fist, landing a critical blow deep within the beast's face, causing a explosion of both yellow and orange flames.
"Natsu!" Lucy yelled to him as they were both blinded with light.
The burst of sudden energy caused the ground to lose itself, the yellow glow was escaping the cracks wildly.
Natsu squinted through the light, searching for Lucy, becoming increasingly worried for her.
"Lucy?" He called in all directions.
"Natsu? Where are you?" He heard her faintly in the distance.
"I'm coming, stay where you are!" He jumped from flat surface to fairly sturdy areas as he avoided the cracks.
Then, he saw her, crouching and closing her eyes.
Lucy's P.O.V
The brightness of the space around her burned her eyes, making them sting. Shutting them tightly, she bent down. Feeling strangely fatigued, she could hear Natsu's voice. Though she couldn't open her eyes when he wrapped his arms around her shoulders.
"Lucy what's wrong?" He whispered to her, but it was as if the light was deafening.
"It hurts my eyes." She kept them shut, gripping his shirt.
"Let me carry you, we will leave." She felt him pick her up, holding her close and secure.
