Natsu's P.O.V
The music cued, echoing a deep rumble throughout the halls.
The doors opened hesitantly, emerging from behind, to his utter shock: was Lucy with her father.
Natsu nearly chocked on his own spit. Now he remembered the scent, it was her fathers. He felt his back tense up as they walked arm in arm towards him.
All of his senses screamed at him to be alert and cautious, but as Jude handed Lucy over he whispered ever so gently-
I trust you.
With a absentminded nod, Natsu took her hands and faced her wholeheartedly.
"I'll tell you later." Lucy lowered her voice only to where he could hear her.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today-"
Natsu remained lost within Lucy's brown eyes as the priest continued on.
'It's finally happening.' He smiled to himself as he squeezed her hands.
Natsu
Natsu
Natsu!
Lucy shook him softly.
"Eh?" He shook his head and turned to the priest.
"Please share your vows." priest cleared his throat.
"Vows..." He scratched his head uncomfortably.
Tell her how you feel.
He heard Jude whisper from afar in the audience.
"R-right." He coughed and regained his position.
"Lucy...Ever since I saw you in your tower- I can't explain how I felt. But I know we have been through a lot since then. Through thick and thin you have never doubted me or abandoned me. I know I promised you many things- I can't promise to fix all the problems you or I face (I will certainly try) but I can promise you won't ever face them alone. I won't ever leave you alone as long as I breath. I love you more than can be put into my reduced vocabulary." He ended with a bright grin.
Lucy's P.O.V
Her eyes stung more with every word he spoke, her heart swelled with affection as he ended with that very grin she fell in love with.
"Now the mistress."
"Natsu- I..." She took a deep breath to fight her shaken voice.
"You saved me in more ways than one. I am forever grateful for you plummeting into my life. My past has caused you a great deal of pain, yet you still persevered to try and save me again. I have loved you no less than when I first realized it. I will continue to love you forever, more than before." That was all she could mutter before having tears spill from her eyes once again.
Natsu rubbed her hands for comfort as the priest presented them the rings.
Natsu's P.O.V
Taking the ring cautiously, he slid it carefully onto her delicate finger.
"Hey you put it on the right finger." Lucy smiled and giggled.
"Of course." He blushed lightly in response as she slid the band binding them onto his finger.
"By the power vested in me, I proclaim and pronounce you husband and wife. Please kiss already!" The priest urged with a friendly chuckle.
Without hesitation, Natsu pulled his bride into his arms and pressed a warm, loving kiss upon her lips. He felt a sharp pain in his head but he ignored it for now.
The audience cheered whimsically as Lucy clung to him passionately.
Pulling back, they both turned red as they faced the crowd before them.
"One more thing-" the priest grabbed their attention again.
"You now have the option to claim full possession of this land. You can become a kingdom rightfully."
"How do we do that?" Natsu touched his head uncomfortably.
"All you have to worry about is your crown. I will handle the rest as a thank you for saving this area." The priest smiled gratefully.
"Oh thank you." Lucy smiled happily as she held his hand.
"Not a- your highness are you alright? You look a little pale."
"Natsu?" Lucy's voice rung in his ears.
"I'm more than fine, Lucy is now my wife." He smiled their worries away.
"Have fun on your honeymoon." The crowd encouraged with innuendos and bold smiles.
Lucy's P.O.V
"Lucy-" she heard her father from behind.
"Yes?" She slowly turned towards him.
"I just wanted to say-I'm glad you are finally happy." He clasped his hands tightly together.
"Thank you, father." She gave him a earnest smile and kissed his cheek forgivingly.
"Take care of yourself okay?" She called to him as she and Natsu exited the building.
