Natsu's P.O.V
'I smell someone...Who could it be? I can't remember exactly.' He thought to himself as he readied his stance.
"Do you know what to do, Your highness?" A small man politely asked.
"I wait here for her to come, then the priest makes us kiss." This earned a small round of chuckles from whom ever heard.
"In a simplistic way, yes that is how it goes, but there is more to it. You have to-"
Natsu dimmed him voice out as the scent of someone he knew filled his lungs once again. Yet he couldn't remember who it was, he should know, it seems so familiar.
Lucy's P.O.V
"Father? W-what are you doing here?" She stepped back in defense.
"Please I mean you no harm." His eyes were glazed over.
"Why are you here." She regained her posture.
"How could I miss my daughter's wedding day?" He nearly hugged her, but she once again evaded.
"How did you find out?" She lowered her voice in a demeaning tone.
"The towns were boasting about it; that my daughter was to be married to a pink haired Prince." He shook his head slightly.
"You still disapprove of him?" She raised her eyebrow.
"I-I...No. I can't anymore." He turned away.
"Why do you have a epiphany all the sudden?"
"It has been many months since you last saw me, I have been alone this entire time. Isolation brings out our real character. I have seen my misjudgments and my wrong doings. For your mother has come to me, oh how heavenly her light shown. She has guided me to the right path."
"You saw mother...?" Lucy clutched her chest.
"I now realize: you can't pick who you love, your heart chooses and you simply pursue it." He turned back to face her, a expression of pure earnestness lightened the room.
"You-I-" Lucy was at a loss of words, she couldn't comprehend the words escaping his mouth, they didn't seem like they belonged.
"Father..." Was all she could manage to say before letting a few tears run down her cheeks.
"No more crying. I have seen you cry too often." He boldly took his daughter in his arms, making Lucy tense up ever so slightly.
"I'm sorry for all I've done." Jude wept softly.
"I shouldn't forgive you...I should-" She shook slightly.
"My family." A hollow yet lively voice silenced them.
"Layla." Jude smiled just as bright as her heavenly appearance.
"Mom...?" Lucy couldn't believe her eyes as she stared directly at her deceased mother.
"Lucy, my daughter. You look so beautiful in your dress." Layla gracefully floated towards her.
"Today is your big day, save those tears." Her ghostly hand swept her tears away.
"Mom-I-I'm sorry-"
"You did nothing wrong." She silenced her as she faced both of them.
"I sense your love, though yours is torn, Lucy; there is always time to heal." Layla smiled softly.
"This is all I've ever wanted." Layla's light grew brighter.
"Where are you going?" Lucy tried to grab her silhouette.
"My time here is done, I must go now." Layla began to disintegrate.
"Mom wait! Please don't leave again!" Lucy cried vigorously.
"I won't be far, you know where to find me, Lucy." Layla pointed her hand beyond the ceiling.
"I love you mom!" Lucy sank to her knees.
"I love both of you." Layla whispered before bursting into a cluster of yellow pixels.
Just then the bells tolled, signaling the start of the ceremony.
