Tw: has a tone of angst and a dog being put down. This oneshot is based on 2022 so there will be texting on this oneshot and this is slightly based on a true story.

"Do we really have to put him down?" Finney asked the doctor in between sobs

"Yes it's the best way this lovely friend will feel better. It seems like this little one has lived a long life"

"Yes... yes he has. I grew up with him. I don't want him to leave. Please are you sure that you can't do anything else?" Finney said trying to calm himself down

"No I'm so sorry honey we have to put him down today. Would you and you're sister like to be in the room to watch him take his last breath?" The doctor asked calmly

"Yes please." Gwen sighed and looked at Finney

"Are you sure you want to stay" Gwen asked worriedly

Finney just nodded as he let more tears fall down his face.

The doctor put the shot in and Willow took his last breath.

"No.. no" Finney went up to him and saw him close his eyes

Admittedly when he saw Willow close his eyes he started to cry even more.

Gwen looked at the doctor, signaling to give them a minute and the doctor left the room.

Gwen started to cry too, but she wasn't as hurt as Finney.

Finney was really attached to Willow.

Willow was like his therapy dog. Everytime he was upset or sick Willow would always be there.

It was like Willow could tell how Finney was feeling which made Finney extremely happy.

Finney was so lucky to have Willow. He was the best dog you could ask for.

Finney hugged Willow softly as he cried on his fur.

"I'm really sorry Finney." Gwen rubs his back to show her support

"I just.. I just don't know I'm going to do without him. I wish it was me and not him. He didn't deserve to be this way."

"Finney don't say that" Gwen lightly took Finney off Willow and hugged him.

"He lived a very good life and he was lucky to have a owner like you. I know it hurts since you've grown with him but just know he will always be watching over you no matter what"

Finney hugged Gwen back and tried to control his breaths

Finney let got first "Thank you Gwenny." Finney wiped his tears and looked at Willow again.

"You're right he will be in a better place now."

Its been a few days now since Willow passed away and Finney hasn't gone to school since.

I guess you could say Finney is taking a mental health week.

His father doesn't even care about him so basically he doesn't even care if Finney doesn't go to school. Sometimes he does but it's rarely.

Robin had noticed that Finney had been absent and he's been starting to get worried.

After school he decided to ask Gwen about Finney.

"Hey Gwen!" Robin shouted out as he walked towards her

"Oh hey Robin what's up?"
