"Thank you," Do Hyun said with a slight bow before the waiter stepped away after placing her plate of truffle cream pasta on the table.

Like clockwork Tae Oh picked up a table napkin and proceeded to wipe the small amount of pasta sauce on the side of Do Hyun's plate. He halted in an instant when he heard her faint giggling.

"I did it again," Tae Oh stated with an awkward chuckle. "I'm so sorry. Force of habit."

"That's okay, chef," Do Hyun winked at him

"That's okay, chef," Do Hyun winked at him. "At this point I'd be more surprised if you don't do it."

Tae Oh just smiled then put down the table napkin and picked up a fork instead.

"Bon appetit."

So they started to dig in, keeping in mind that this would be a short lunch together. Not only because of Youngie's birthday but because Tae Oh decided  to eat at this fancy Italian restaurant in Gangnam, spending more than half an hour driving from Ilsan. When Do Hyun asked why, Tae Oh just said he heard good reviews about the truffle cream pasta being served here. Do Hyun chose to just ignore the fact that he had the same pasta for Christmas dinner last night at his parents' house just like he told her when he greeted her a merry Christmas over the phone.  Especially because she quite enjoyed strolling in his new car on the way here.

They didn't really plan any of this along with every other secret lunch date they had since they left Namwon. In fact, Do Hyun was prepared to put aside her feelings so she could continue living with Youngie in their version of a normal life.

But after paying Youngie's physician a visit, something miraculous had happened.

Perhaps they had Tae Oh's persistence to thank which prodded him to drive by the perfume shop one morning so he could see Do Hyun even just from his car window. But the moment he saw her stepping out of the shop, he still ended up approaching her, without realizing that Youngie could see them through the glass wall.

Youngie didn't say anything about it until the next night when they were having dinner at home.

"Wait, wait, wait. You're not making any sense," Do Hyun freaked out across the table from Youngie. "First, you said my boyfriend. Then you said dropped by again. And now you're saying you recognized him?"
