Youngie's hand trembled in SIG's grip as she kept looking at him, eyes wide in disbelief.
Like a movie on a silver screen, the moments she spent with him played in her head in montages, bringing forth an overwhelming amount of affection that all this time, took refuge in the depths of her heart and had no way to manifest itself without her memory of him.
But the longer she gazed at him as his custom made perfume permeated her senses, the more vivid every memory became.
"Youngie," SIG trailed off, reluctant to ask his next question. But the way Youngie gazed at him gave him courage. "Do you… remember who I am?"
Youngie's eyes lingered on SIG as if she was seeing him completely for the first time.
"I— I think so. These are memories, right?" Youngie asked, choking up and giggling at the same time as she wiped her tears with the back of her free hand.
SIG barely held back his tears while silently cursing at the obstruction between them that kept him from pulling Youngie into his arms.
"How much do you remember?"
"Enough to know that you sent me that cake," Youngie sniffed while glancing at the cake on her work surface.
Both caught on the hop by the unexpected turn this day took, they looked at each other with so much longing as if the answers to their yet unexpressed questions could be found in each other's gazes.
Lost for words, SIG placed Youngie's palm against his right cheek. He relished how she caressed his face with her thumb as he kissed her wrist, and basked in the affection from Youngie's eyes just like before.
Is this a dream or a miracle? SIG asked himself, wondering what made Youngie remember him all of a sudden.
With the disadvantage of the counter between them, he contemplated whether to go around it or wait for Youngie to come to him instead. But before he could even make another move, the door chime sounded off again.
Both SIG and Youngie turned a startled gaze at the door as it spat out a man in a bespoke, cream colored, double breasted suit ensemble.
"Buongiorno!" The man greeted ostentatiously as soon as he entered the shop.
Youngie immediately recognized the man. So she carefully pulled her hand away from SIG's grip then picked up the paper that SIG signed from the floor and put it on her work surface.
