Chapter 20 (Finale Pt. 4)

Meanwhile, back on the surface.....

Mugman: I can't believe Chalice is gone.....

Leo: Yeah....and it's all my fault.

Mugman: Of course it's your fault! Chalice sacrificed herself to save you and you didn't even have time to react! First, you killed Raph! And now, Chalice killed herself because of you!

Donnie: That's enough, you two.

Mikey: Yeah....please stop fighting.....I don't want to lose you two as well....

Donnie: None of us do, Mikey.

Mugman walked up to Donnie and Mikey.

Mugman: HE KILLED RAPH AND CHALICE! OF COURSE IT'S HIS FAULT!

Mugman turns to Leo.

Mugman: I'm never forgiving you for this.....I hate you. I wish you were never my friend.....

Mugman walks out of the living room.

Donnie: Leo.....

Leo: No, he's right. Raph's death is my fault. I didn't know what I was doing. Everything was just a blur. Chalice died because I wanted to die. She saved me from falling off a building.

Mikey: You tried to kill yourself?!

Donnie: What were you thinking, 'Nardo?

Leo: I.....I'm sorry, okay? So much has happened ever since Cuphead's death.....

Leo looks down at his wrist, which still has the bracelet.

Leo: He was not a bad friend, he was only trying to help me....and I was blinded by rage.....

April: It's no one's fault, Leo. Not even Mugman's. Or yours.

Leo:........

April: Look, we've all changed since Cuphead's death.....but the best thing we can do be there for each other and help Mugman out. He lost his brother almost two months ago and he lost his sister just last night. We lost Raph last night as well.....we can't lose anyone else....we need to stick together, no matter what....

Leo: April?

April: Yeah?

Leo: Thanks.

April: No problem.

Meanwhile, with Mugman.....

Mugman: AHHH!!!

Mugman throws a cup across the guest bedroom and it shatters.

Mugman: (pant, pant)

Mugman sat on his bed and looks at the photo of him and Cuphead.

Mugman: I miss you so much, bro.....I hope you're doing okay up there.....

He puts the photo in his pocket and lays on his side.

Mugman: (sniffle)

He turned to face the wall and muffled sobs come out of him when he hid his face in his knees and hugs himself.

Mugman: (sobs softly)

Meanwhile, with Leo.....

Leo: (sigh)

Mikey: What now?

Donnie: I.....I'm not sure....it's best if we stay inside today.....last night was pretty rough.....

Mikey: Mugman lost both of his siblings and we lost Raph.....we can't lose anyone else.....

Donnie: I know, Mikey....I know.....

Mikey: Hey, Donnie?

Donnie: Yeah?

Mikey: What's gonna happen in the future?

Donnie: I don't know.....but whatever the future is expecting for us, I'm sure it'll be fine.....as long as we stick together.....

Mikey: Yeah.

April: You got that right.

Leo: Yeah....

[5 years later]

Mugman: 17

Leo: 22

Mikey: 20

Leo's pov

It's been 5 years and the apocalypse is happening.....we lost April 2 years ago and we lost Donnie just last month....there are three of us left....fighting for our lives.

Mikey has his mystic hands.

Mugman's been silent and a fighter. He's been training with Mikey ever since the apocalypse happened. He's gotten stronger physically. But he never recovered emotionally. Ever since Cuphead's death, he's changed alot ever since then. He hasn't to talked me ever since we lost Raph and Chalice.

And then there's me.....protecting them both. I've gotten stronger and more protective. Mugman has been ignoring me and he didn't want to be protected. He refuses to ask for help, he lashes out all the time, and worst of all, he's been going out on patrols alone alot and he comes back injured every time.

Third person pov

Mikey talks with Leo.

Mikey: It's been 5 years, Leo.....you need to talk to Mugman.

Leo: He refuses to talk to me, anyway. Even if I try to talk to him, he wouldn't listen.

Mikey: It means that he needs someone right now.....he hasn't talked ever since Raph and Chalice died.....

Leo: Wait....he never talked at all?

Mikey: He wouldn't even talk to me. He hasn't talked at all for almost 5 years.....it felt like he lost his voice completely.

Leo: Should I go talk to him?

Mikey: Yeah.....

Leo walks up to Mugman's bedroom door and knocks.

Leo: Mugman? Can we talk? Please, it's been 5 years since you've last talked, bud....

Leo doesn't hear anything.

Leo: Mugman?

Leo opens the door to find the bedroom empty.

Leo: ?!

Then, he saw a window shattered and a note on the bed.

Leo: (softly) What the heck.....

Leo walks over to the bed and picks up the note.

Leo: I wonder what it says.....

Leo reads the note and his eyes widen.

Leo: Oh, my god.....

Leo runs out of the bedroom.

Leo: Mikey!

Mikey: Leo, what is it? What's wrong?

Leo: Mugman's gone....

Mikey: What do you mean "he's gone"?

Leo hands him the note and he reads it. His eyes go wide.

Mikey: Who sent this?

Leo: I'm not sure....but I think I know who's responsible for Cuphead's death.

Mikey: Who?

Leo: Let's just go and rescue Mugman. We have a mission.

Mikey: Okay....let's do this.....

I can't believe this story is almost coming to an end....but don't worry! There are two more parts left to the finale! See ya in the next chapter! BAI! <3
