Liz and I were the envy of every couple back in High School.
She's the one who completes me and after High School, we both went to Avery Harper University to chase our dreams.
Yeah, we grew in each others' eyes, friends added in our circles, and we both relied on one another for surviving college and life itself. She was in Med School, I was in Music School. Whenever we had the chance to talk around campus, we made it extra special because we only meet once everyday or not at all. We'd be lucky if we spend lunch together. Dates weren't made every night, but when we go out, I plan ahead to make it seem worthwhile and not that expensive. We were just students at the time. When I graduated, I told her I'd wait for her to finish her degree and she agreed. While waiting, I played in local bars, had gigs with my college friends, and earned a couple of bucks that were enough to buy her a graduation gift.
A diamond ring.
Liz is the kind of girl who has it all and deserves it all. I'm lucky that she chose me over the boys who had fancy cars, good pushed-back hair, and cheeky smiles. It made me realize that I'm worthy of her love and affection. Right after the graduation ceremony, I took her hand and lead her inside her favorite room, the Chemistry lab, and proposed. I thought she'll never say 'YES', but it turned the other way around. We worked first to save for our wedding and for the future life we'll share. I signed a contract for a music label under Bonneville Records after they heard my demo tape and Liz got hired in Austway Medical Center.
We got married in the Southland Wedding Chapel and I swear that was the best decision I've ever made. On the first few months of our marriage, things were going so well until I was destined in Las Vegas for the making of a record that made us the top notchers of the music charts. I made songs for artists and played it for them. I have my own records as well. Liz and I were communicating through constant letter-writing and phone calls. She'll give me updates about her work and Ava and I'll do the same; without Ava, of course. We always say 'I miss you' to one another and sometimes we both end up in tears. When I returned to New York, I got a call from Mrs. Lockford, Liz's mother, saying that she's in the hospital and was about to give birth. I rushed there and when I arrived, I saw the most beautiful girl alive.
I almost skipped the first year of our marriage. What about now?
