SEPTEMBER 7TH 1979
LUCY'S POV

I've been going to school for only a day now and I already hate it. It's so boring. As usual I woke up to the banging on my window.

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

I let out a groan and I heard the window slide open. Jamie climbed in, and she immediately goes to my closet and starts to pick out some clothes.

I pick my head up "what the hell are you doing?" I asked as she throws clothes on my bed. "You need to look cute for Vance"

She then holds up a long sleeve shirt and some flair jeans.

"You look great!" She said I rolled my eyes and started to do my hair as she went to Molly's room

"You look great!" She said I rolled my eyes and started to do my hair as she went to Molly's room. It was odd, dad hasn't been here in a while. I mean he usually disappears for a couple days but never a full week, mainly because he tries to keep his job.

I was done doing my hair as the window slid open again, this time Vance immerged. "Yo" I said as I was applying a bit of makeup. I'm gonna admit I was nervous to talk to him. Especially since the almost kiss. So I avoided him all day yesterday.

"Hey..." Was all he said. I could tell something was off. He was keeping his head down and his voice was gravely, as if he was screaming. "What's up?"

There was a brief pause. "Can I uh.. can.. do you.. can I crash here? Only for a bit like two days max.. "

I was getting worried "yeah totally, everything ok? " He finally picked his head up. His eyes were red, but not like the red from drugs. Red from crying. He had light bruises on his face.

"Just fighting with my dad..." I kinda figured his home life was rough, I mean who's isn't? But I never thought it would be similar to mine. "Look.. you can stay here as long as you need to.. don't worry I won't say shit to anyone that you're here" I said sympathetically.

A small smile formed on his face, " thanks"

Once we got to the school, after dropping Molly off, me and Vance parted ways. Jamie stuck with me. I headed for my first class, chemistry. Normally I'd ditch but I made a deal that I'd have perfect attendence the entire time I was in community service.

I sat in my desk and Vance sat Infront of me.
I didn't do anything in that class. I was asleep till I felt a piece of paper hit me. So I read it.
