Chapter 30

She managed to stand up and that was the moment when a thunderclap was heard and it started to rain heavily. Yeji grabbed her phone and told me that she wanted to go home and I was really confused as to why she had called me and told me that she really needed me, if she wouldn't even talk to me.

Then she grabbed me by the waist and pulled me closer, pressing her lips against mine. And it was the best feeling in the whole world.

Our lips brushed as she pulled away and now her hair was sticking to her forehead, while my jeans were stuck to my skin, but I didn't really care. She took a step back and moistened her lips.

I skated slowly beside her as we made our way back and she didn't have to ask me to come inside her house, because I did it without waiting for her invitation anyway.

Her mother's car wasn't in the driveway, so I thought maybe she went to the hospital to find out more about what happened with her ex-mother-in-law.

I stopped myself from taking a step into Yeji's room because she went to the window and looked out for a couple of seconds, then turned around and all I could see in her eyes was pain.

She looks so broken.

We were both soaking wet, but I didn't care, I just wanted to make sure she was okay.

"Are you okay?" I asked her again.

She bit her lip and oh god, help me, she started shaking her head.

She was so vulnerable and all I wanted to do was hug her. So I took a few steps forward closing the gap between us and wrapping my arms around her neck, my forehead fitting perfectly into the curve of her neck.

Immediately her arms went around my waist and her head sank into my shoulder. She was so cold and her puffy red jacket was definitely useless because it was all wet.

I had to stand on my tiptoes a bit, but it was worth it, I loved the feeling of her arms around me.

She broke the hug a couple of minutes later and my breathing stopped when I looked at her. Her eyes were full of tears, her cheeks were puffy and she still looked so beautiful it seemed crazy.

Yeji rubbed her eyes with her fists and coughed before telling me she was going to take a shower. She handed me a towel before going to the bathroom and a change of clothes.

It was that green knit sweater I liked and a pair of sweatpants. I put the clothes on before I started wandering around the room and finally stopped at the guitar in the corner.

The door opened and Yeji walked in drying her hair with a towel, she was now wearing a hoodie and sweatpants.

She draped the towel around my shoulders and pulled me close for a quick kiss, before laying down on her back on the bed.

I grabbed the towel and put it on a chair, before climbing over her and laying down next to her.

I looked at her face and she said nothing.

Absolutely nothing, she just let me look at her. Her piercings were gone, literally every single one. She looked so normal, so innocent.

"You took out all your piercings?"

She nodded.

"Even the one on my tongue, you want to see?"

"Not if you have a big hole in your tongue."

"Don't worry."

Then I nodded and she stuck out her tongue, making me smile.

"Can I see how it feels?" I asked and she looked at me confused.
