I went downstairs and walked toward Grandma, just as Grandpa was coming from the main room.

"There you are! Where were you? I looked everywhere for you!" Grandpa said and put his arm around me.

I smiled and hugged him sideways.

"I was in the bathroom."

"Then let's go already! Everyone's already gone, poor Beomgyu is starving."

I rolled my eyes and when Grandma turned around, I whispered a "thank you, I love you." To Grandpa.

"I love you too, Jin. Not as much as that little girl, though."

"What?"

"Come on."

The meeting had already started when we arrived. There were people everywhere, every inch of the garden, with a plate of food in hand. Even though it was supposed to be a sad night, no one seemed really affected. There was food everywhere and my stomach was growling, but not.

Yeji finally appeared as people were eating and gossiping. She didn't get many stares and tried to remain discreet. She gave me a kiss on the cheek when she was sure no one was looking and I quickly pushed her away, but my face was hot and I was surely blushing.

"Have you eaten anything?" She asked as the people were pouring what appeared to be the fourth glass of tea that night.

She wasn't staring at me, she pretended to have something else to look at.

And I didn't respond, trying to pretend I didn't hear her. But my stomach growled, giving me away, so much for my plan to avoid food.

"Eat this." She said and I rolled my eyes because it was none of her business. I took the plate anyway. "If you do, I'll eat you later."

My stomach flipped, so I sat down at a table in the corner and ate literally everything on that plate.

I soon felt nauseous because it was too much and I had gone so long without eating.

"Ryujinnie, we're leaving now." Grandma announced ten minutes later when I was talking to Somi and Giselle in the kitchen.

"Um... I was actually wondering if I could stay over at Giselle's house tonight, we planned to do this a long time ago, right? Please grandma, before she leaves for college."

Giselle played along and we both pleaded with her. Grandma finally relented and told me she would quickly stop by our house and get me some pajamas and my toothbrush.

She disappeared and I thanked Giselle, she arched her eyebrows and I rolled my eyes.

"Shut up."

"Oh, hellooo." Somi said and nodded toward something behind me.

I turned around and saw Yeji leaning against the door frame talking to Grandpa. Then I swallowed hard and walked toward them.

"Hi." I said and they both looked at me. "So... Uhm grandpa, I'm staying at Giselle's tonight."

Yeji frowned, before a sad expression settled on her face.

"Oh, why?"

"She has a really cute cat and I want to play with her." They both looked confused. "Yes, I want to spend the night with Mr. Fluffles." I continued and Yeji bit her lip, stifling a smile.

"Well, okay then. I was talking to your girlfriend."

I rolled my eyes and Yeji snorted.

"Well, it's good to see you then." Grandpa said, as they shook hands.
