As she threw herself into the air, Laila felt the adrenaline rushing through her body. She had no idea what she was going to do when she got to Amanda but she had to try to save Kayla.

A stab of pain went through her left side. She felt her ribs crack as the monster hit her down and threw her aside.

Crashing to the ground beside the wall, Laila noticed the floor was cracked all across.

"You can't defeat me little Fair folk." the monster hissed. "You'll soon die and you're dear friend too."

Laila didn't know if she was imagining it but she thought she could hear uneasiness in the creature's voice.

"We Greater Demons are stronger than any Fair folk of your kind!" The creature was now yelling. "We will never be defeated! We will-"

She was interrupted by something shooting through the air towards her that was making a slicing whistling sound. The monster was blasted backwards by.. An icicle? Kayla landed on the floor a few feet away from where Laila lay.

Still dizzy from the blow, Laila pushed herself to a sitting position and looked at Kayla's nimble body crumpled on the floor.

I have to get to her. - she thought desperately.

She started to drag herself toward her friend when she heard the creature hissing across the hall.

"What is this? You cannot interfere with Demon business." The creature hissed to someone Laila couldn't see through the blurriness of her vision.

"Well. When one of ours is being threatened so we have the permission from the Law to interfere." said a voice Laila assumed to be male.

"Also, you're quite ugly and it's not nice to bully pretty girls." said another voice Laila knew was male.

Laila turned her head and tried to focus her vision on the new arrivals and finally she recognized two human shapes.

Thank god. -she was relieved.

One was quite handsome and the other.. Laila was taken over by his beauty. She caught herself with her mouth open and staring at the boy.

Suddenly the boy launched himself at the Demon and threw icicles in mid air straight at the Demon.. From his hands.

How is he doing that? - Laila, confused looked at the other boy who, she realized, was marching towards her.

"Get up. Quick." The boy ordered.

"I-I can't. Help Kayla. She's dying." Laila's her hands were shaking and so was her voice.

The boy turned to look down at Kayla's crumpled body. He picked her up, one hand between her knees the other holding her shoulders.

The boy walked around the corner and placed Kayla on the floor and placed his hands on her wounded body. Suddenly Kayla's body started to glow and Laila heard her whimper.

Thank goodness. She's alive. - Laila, relieved, turned in time to see the other boy, the beautiful one, fly over the Demon's head and stick an icicle in the thing's eye.

Laila didn't know what to do. Some part of her made her go towards the battling pair.

Before getting too close, Laila turned to see Kayla and the other boy behind the corner of the wall. Kayla lay there in a cloud of sparkling light as the boy worked over her.

Turning back to the battle, Laila was furious with the creature that had hurt her best friend. Her hate towards the Demon was huge. Her hands clenched in fists, Laila made her way towards the Demon. She stopped a few feet away.

Her feet began to rise from the ground but Laila didn't notice. Her eyes were on the Demon.

Feeling her glare, the monster and boy turned to look at her. Both their eyes widened. Laila was now two feet off the ground and her hair was twirling around her. Fire was churning in her palms and her eyes were glowing blue. Vines spread across her body in a sort of fighting gear suit. It was quite uncomfortable but Laila didn't care.

Although she had no idea what she was doing, Laila's instincts took over. She found herself throwing fireballs at the Demon as the boy leaped out of the way.

"You ruined my life!" Laila yelled at the top of her lungs. "You almost killed my friend!" She felt tears poor down her cheeks as she threw another ball of fire at the Demon.

"I hate you!" She continued. "I'll kill you!" Her arms hurt but she was enraged. There was no stopping her at this point.

Laila's hands pushed the air in front of her and a huge gust of air slammed into the Demon's body. It flew back and smashed into the wall. Laila, still floating, neared the Demon and felt her fingertips sting as vines shot from her hands and wrapped themselves around the Demon. The Demon gasped as it was encircled and the vines squeezed its bones together.

Laila lifted the Demon into the air by flicking her wrist and threw it against the wall.

The Demon screamed as it crashed to the floor.

Laila jaw was set, her hands in fists. Her knuckles were white and her face red. She would kill this thing and save Kayla. She twisted her arm and a whirlpool formed itself around the Demon.

"You will never get rid of me." The creature hissed. "I'll be back for you and I'll kill you."

The water spinned faster and faster until the Demon was gone.

Darkness buried itself into Laila's vision. The last think she saw was the boy running to her as she collapsed to the ground.
