I walk inside to find a feast sitting on the dinner table. "Wow..." I say as I sit down in the seat next to Miss peregrine. Bronwyn takes her seat across from me. "I know right! Miss peregrine makes amazing food..just wait till you get to eat her chicken..it's her favorite, and she gets the messiest eating it!" Bronwyn spills out. That girl seems like she could talk forever, but I'm not complaining. "Can't wait to see that!" I say with a smile as I shush her and Miss peregrine walks in. Everybody is seated now and she gives the cue to eat. I load my plate, starving.
I take a bite of the food in-front of me, it practically melting in my mouth. "This is so good Miss peregrine.." I say as I shove my mouth full. Miss peregrine chuckles at my impoliteness. "Please don't talk with your mouth full y/n..Horace looks like he just saw a living demon." Miss peregrine says with a smile as I look up at Horace who is in shock. "Did your parents never teach you manners?" He asks with an eye roll. "First of all, parent, and actually no but I learned them, thank you very much." I say with a smile as I loaded my mouth full again, but made sure to do it after I talk. "Stop arguing you two, it's a simple mistake, nobody is as proper as you Horace." Miss peregrine says as she takes little bites in-between talking. I load my plates up for seconds. "Leave some for us!" Emma says as she nudges at me "hey, it's my first day here, let me enjoy this feast before I eventually have to go back to microwave meals." I say with an eye roll as I shovel my mouth again. "Whatever dodo brain." Emma says. "Miss bloom, what did I say about calling people dodo brain's?" Miss peregrine says as she sternly looks at Emma.
Emma shrugs and miss peregrine turns her attention to Enoch and Horace, whispering about something. Miss peregrine, of-course with her sharp hearing could hear. "No she is not!" Miss peregrine basically yells at Horace and Enoch. Even her yelling makes me flinch, god she's scary. "You may not use such vulgar language! Especially about y/n! Up to both your rooms now, you two will stay inside for reset." Miss peregrine demands. Horace and Enoch whisper a "yes Miss peregrine" as they get up and take their plates to the sink. "I think I'm done.." I say with a smile as I finish my first bite of my second plate. "Y/n, I would like to see you in my office right after dinner." Miss peregrine says with a nod. I nod back as I just sit at the table, zoning out.
I can't imagine what things they said..just thinking about it makes my stomach churn. Emma even said it was not normally for Miss peregrine to make children stay inside durn reset unless it was something really bad. "Y/n, they did not say anything to vulgar about it. I'm so sorry it turned your stomach." Miss peregrine says, waking me from my trance. She can read minds? "Yes I can darling." Miss peregrine says as she picks up my plate and I just follow behind her. I shake my head. "What'd they say about me..?" I ask, scared to know the answer. "Ah, since the kitchen is empty I suppose I won't need you in my office." Miss peregrine says with a sigh as I follow her to the kitchen. "They called you a few slurs while also commenting on your body." Miss peregrine says as she washes the dishes with precision. "May I ask what specifically about my body..?" I ask as I gulp down my past. "Talking about your curves and how much you have developed..I do not allow, nor prohibit that behavior here..I'm sorry for it still. They can be a little immature, I really should split them up at the table." Miss peregrine says. "Thanks..I'm gonna be in the living area.." I say as I walk off, memories of my past popping up.
"You've developed so well..." He whispers in my ear.
I shake the memory off as I walk to the living room to get distracted in a book.
(Does y/n have some past trauma 👀👀 spiccyyyy)
