It's all quiet, except the sound of my footsteps on the layers of the dead leaves as I'm moving forwards, in haste, between the plants and the trees, I'm lost in the woods, and that's what I've been aiming for in the first place when I walked in. I wanted to get lost, as deep as possible, until I forget that there was, once, a world outside the woods.
I remove my shoes, my headscarf, wrap it all over my neck, and I lie down on the ground, I breathe in, the smell of the ground is pleasantly musky, I hear, whispers, children whispers, and as I raise my head to see where it comes from, I see small white round creatures walking towards me on their tiny legs, they're countless, appearing behind the tree trunks increasingly, and the more they appear, the more the whispers become louder, I cross my legs, and tend my hand to touch one of them, it's soft and fluffy, the chubby creature I touched scurries across my arm, to my head, and whispers to me "come in, follow us, we'll take you where you want to be!"
The whispering turns into a tender melody that sounds like the anthem of the forest, the small chubbies are guiding me, through the woods, and throughout the trip I feel my body becoming weightless, and transparent.
We fall, but we seem to be floating. We fall into an abyss, I feel the air passing through my clothes, flower stalks grow from the extremities of my fingers, I close my eyes, I fall into a lake.
Everything seems to be quiet, I forget where I came from, the view is blurred, I hear the sound of my heartbeats.
It's lonely, and scary.
I'm under the water, I fill my lungs with water, I breathe it in, it's painful.
I cry.
I wake up, the view is blurred again, the breeze is gentle, my body is all covered with flower stalks, I'm in the body of a child, the ground feels so soft to my skin, I hear the melody, the anthem of the forest, the chubby white creatures are gathering around me, my mother walks in, she looks young, she hugs me warmly, and then turns out into a big white moth.
