Stanley was asleep for a good twelve hours. He was exhausted. The Narrator, however, only went thirty minutes before feeling like he was in the Skip Button ending again.

When he woke up, The Narrator was speaking frantically. "Stanley! Stanley— Stanley, please don't push the button again, it's been twelve hours!" He blinked in confusion. "I-I mean, don't fall asleep again! It's been twelve hours! ...You've just been laying there..."

Stanley stood up, looking around the room. He looked around before thinking of what ending to do. He could just go with the freedom ending. The Narrator seemed pretty upset right now.

"Stanley, I'm sorry. You haven't had a good sleep since before either of us can remember. I shouldn't... Where are you going?"

Stanley went through the maintenance section. "The Confusion Ending? But..." He passed the elevator. "No? Then... surely you'll spend hours in the broom closet? Leaving me in silence again?"

The Narrator sounded... hurt... Stanley didn't like it. So, he passed right by the broom closet. "No? Then... what... what are you doing?" Up the stairs to his boss's office. "Are you going to lock me in here again? Stanley, what are you doing? You can't possibly be doing the one ending I intended you to do, can you?"

"...The countdown ending? I don't want to hurt you at all... Are you going to hurt me...?"

Stanley shook his head.

He passed the "escape" sign. He went through the usual. But when he tried to turn off the machine, he accidentally hit the "on" button.

"I knew it. You wanted to make me believe you actually cared about me, about my feelings. It was just an act."

No, no, I'm sorry...

"You know... I really hate you..."

Stanley went pale. As if he'd pass out. He shook his head frantically.

"I'm not giving you a count down this time. You don't deserve any precious seconds to live."
