The encounter of a lifetime - Charles Lerclerc

Chapter 66

After a pretty stressful exam session, it's finally summer vacation time for me! And the first stage of these holidays is to go to the French Grand Prix with my sister and my parents. I can't wait for them to come fully into my new universe.

Before leaving for the south of France, I went to my home in Switzerland for a few days. So I will make the trip to the grand prix with my family. I had time to go see my grandparents, who also reminded me that they wanted to see this famous Charles, as well as my Swiss friends. It feels good to come home a few times. Although I love my new life in Monaco.

We leave tomorrow morning, which means that all the bags should be almost ready for departure.

I'm doing my business when my sister storms into my room.

Élodie: Emma, I need your help urgently.
Emma: Yes tell me.
Élodie: Which of my t-shirts should I take for the grand-prix? And I take my cap? Can I put on a sweater for Ricciardo as I watch the grand prix from Ferrari?
Emma: Whoa, let's calm down. So either you can put stuff for Daniel even if you watch from Ferrari but we risk looking at you strangely. But still take your Mclaren t-shirts. And yes take everything you have, the cap everything.

She nods and runs back to her room. She's really super excited to finally see a grand prix.

For my part I finish my bag and put myself in my bed . I take my phone and decide to talk a bit with Charles. We haven't spoken in a few days and I miss him.

me: hello baby if ever with my family we will arrive at the circuit around 1 p.m. By the time we go and park the car at the hotel and come.
charles ❤️: totally okay. I left all the passes in our room, you just have to take them tomorrow when you arrive at the hotel.
me: thank you you really are an angel! my whole family can't wait to see you again. and especially to spend the weekend at the circuit.
charles ❤️: I'm glad they want to come and see what I'm doing. I can't wait to see you all (especially you ❤️). well I'm going to go to sleep because I have training tomorrow morning early. I love you sleep well mon amour ❤️
me: train well i love you sleep well❤️

I set my alarm clock and lock my phone. I can not wait for tomorrow.

After several hours on the road we finally arrive at Le Castellet. We park the car in the hotel car park before going up to pick up our keys at the reception. I let my parents and my sister go and put their business in their room while I take the passes.

We finally enter the paddocks. I see stars in my sister's eyes. She is in heaven. I first take them to the Ferrari hospitality where we join Charles who is with Carlos. It's weird introducing my whole family to Carlos, but it's kinda funny. Fortunately my family speaks very good English and therefore have no problem communicating with him.

Charles takes a guided tour of the building himself. He shows them everything, passing through the offices of the strategists, of Binotto or even his own room.

We then let him go to a meeting while I take my family to see the rest of the paddocks. We meet several pilots during our visit, like Pierre and Lando. But comes the most awaited moment for a certain person.

Daniel: Emma hi come here.

He takes me in his arms.

Emma: Daniel how are you?
Daniel: Very well thank you. Tell me, are you introducing me to those pretty people you're with?
Emma: Of course, let me introduce you to my parents and my little sister, Élodie.
Daniel: (in French) Enchanté !

My parents say they too are delighted to meet him and do not fail to congratulate his effort to speak French.

Daniel: If I'm not mistaken, you told me that your sister was "a fan of me", right?

My sister blushed like a tomato.

Emma: That's right, yes.
Daniel: Well girl you have good taste.
Elodie: Thank you haha.

Élodie pulls a DR3 cap out of her bag and asks him embarrassed if he would agree to sign it for her.

Daniel: You know what I'm going to do better than that! If everyone agrees you can come and see the qualifications from my garage. That way you can see a nice loaner car and not a Ferrari. And besides, you can see my girlfriend Heidi, she's very nice. Oh and of course i'll sign it give me that sweetheart.
Élodie: Oh that's so nice, I don't know what to say. Emma do you mind if I go see the qualis there?
Emma: No of course not.

My sister is jumping for joy. I'm happy for her. Tomorrow she will be able to discover the atmosphere of F1 with me during the tests, then the next day to see the Mclaren garage and finally on Sunday to see the race.
Daniel obviously signs his cap before leaving.

This day was absolutely crazy. My parents and my sister loved it. Tonight on the program is a small restaurant in our hotel and a good night's sleep.

The hotel restaurant is very nice. The dishes are very luxurious and very good. We spend a very good evening the five sets.

Back in the room I explain what we did today to Charles, and he does the same. He is happy because according to the statistics the car should perform very well here. And he would like to do well in front of my family, even if I told him a thousand times that he had nothing to prove to them and that they would be happy even if he finished 20th.

We put a little movie on the TV that we barely follow because we soon fall asleep. It was a big day, and tomorrow looks even busier.
