It was a quiet Sunday morning at Duckburg that 20th December. The weather was a bit fresh and cloudy. Shamrock woke up at 8am, he didn't want to sleep anymore so he walked fast downstairs to see if Scrooge was still sleeping in the living room. Sadly he wasn't but there was a letter on the table. Shamrock rode it:
"Dear Shamrock, you can come to the Money Bin whenever you want. You are my special guest from now on. We can spend Christmas days all together if you like it. I'm very happy that I've met you, little boy. See you soon. Your great uncle, Scrooge."
Shamrock kept a tear and putted the letter nicely on the table, next to the vase with the four leafs clover that Gladstone gave him the first day.
Shamrock went outside, Gladstone was still sleeping and he didn't want to disturbe him. There was no one on the street, as exception for a strange lady across the house. Shamrock sitted on the rocking chair starting to play his videogame. After a while he heard someone calling him. That lady was smiling at him, behind the gate. She had long black hair and she was completely black dressed. Her accent sounded from a foreigner country. Shamrock ignored her but she stubbornly insisted, saying that she needed to say something to him.
- I don't talk with strangers.- Said Shamrock, uncomfortable.
Magica was starting to lose her patience. She suddenly remembered the words of Goldie: no need to be fast, better prepared than in a hurry. She was right but Magica wanted everything now. Power, and the Old NumberOne.
A few minutes earlier, Gladstone was in the bathroom, combing his hair with gel. Grandma Duck just sended him a message, she was pretending to know her nephew that day, Gus Goose was very happy about it too. How could he reject such an invitation?
- Shamrock we are invited at the countryside today!- Said Gladstone walking in the corridor, elegant as usual in his green jacket. No answer. Gladstone knocked at Shamrock 's door, still nothing. When he opened, he just saw the empty bed.
- Shamrock where are you?- Gladstone went downstairs searching for his nephew.
A few seconds later, Shamrock runned inside from the front door, scared. The coat on his pyjamas.
- She must leave me alone!!- Shamrock was glad to see his uncle.
- Who is there?? What's happened?- Gladstone went outside and he saw just a dark figure running away.
- The dark woman! She is scary, she started doing a...such a spell....-
Shamrock was shivering, continuing to say:
- But then a cat runned on the tree here in front but the branch was too weak and he fell down...right on her head an it interrupted the spell! So I run inside...-
Shamrock was still shocked. That lady wasn't normal. She wanted his luck, she said. A huge luck that he didn't even realise how much it was.
- Magica de Spell! What does she wants now?- Gladstone was really angry. He didn't even want to think about Magica trying to hurt Shamrock.
- Who is she? - Asked Shamrock.
- A very dangerous person.- Gladstone looked out from the window of the living room. Magica was gone.
- Your luck saved you.- Said Gladstone turning to his nephew.
- I'm not lucky, uncle Gladstone! I'm the opposite I...just don't...-
- You have to believe in your luck.- Gladstone interrupted him - You are so. And it will never change. But if you don't believe in it, or you always think so badly, everything could become harder.-
Shamrock sighed, sitting on the armchair. He felt overwhelmed, thinking also about the day next, that he had to start at the new school, just a few days before Christmas. Gladstone noticed the letter from Scrooge on the table. No one better than Scrooge could explain everything about Magica to Shamrock.
- I would like to visit uncle Scrooge tomorrow after school...- Gladstone heard Shamrock saying that.
- Of course you can. You have to see the Money Bin. But today, you will know another little part of the family. At the country...-
- Country?? So with a lot of animals...- Shamrock felt immediately very excited. His energy came back to him all together.
- Yes. Our grandma just invited us. And cousin Gus Goose. They can't wait to see you.-
- Wow!! I can't wait too!- Shamrock runned upstairs with the coat still on, for getting dressed up. He forgot in a while about Magica, and about to have breakfast too. He was just a kid, Gladstone knew it. But Shamrock needed to become wiser about his luck. Gladstone started also to worry a lot about Magica. He needed to talk with his cousins or with Scrooge.
The Sunday passed quiet and Shamrock had a very good time at the farm by Grandma Duck and Gus Goose. Gladstone preferred avoiding to mention Magica. It will be a busy period for Shamrock with school, new family, new life, he didn't want to ruin that perfect day.
For Magica that day was very bad, instead. Her head was hurting a lot and she felt even worse when she heard her phone ringing. Goldie wanted news from her.
She preferred to don't pick up the phone. She came back home, ice on the head, with the only company of her little crow.
After an hour, tired to hear the phone ringing, Magica picked it up frustrated.
- It didn't go well, Goldie, as you expected, I know it. Please don't judge me. My head is near to an explosion...-
- Of course I knew it!- Laughed Goldie- We have to be prepared. And do it together. Against such so much luck, it's a must. I will help you, and I'll be even ready to do the heaviest part. Listen...-
Magica putted all her attention to the conversation. Goldie was a genius. She liked to be even greedier than Magica herself. When Goldie finished exposing her plan, Magica laughed loudly and said:
- No mercy for that poor little kid! We would have to feel miserable about it but...I'm not! AHAHA!!!-
- No! At all.- Added Goldie- Because we are bad girls!-
